Stayed here on a family trip and had a great check in experience with Charlotte she walked us to the elevator giving us a run through of the different areas of the hotel which was really nice personable hospitality and also helpful especially travelling as a family ! The Riggs is a beautiful property and shout out to Nickolas in Cafe ! Great service and hospitality overall really great stay !

Quite possibly the best hotel stay that I've had in the past 15 years.

The staff were incredible. Everyone was kind and helpful. I sincerely appreciate their effort.

I found myself returning to Cafe Riggs throughout my weekend stay because the food was THAT good. The drinks were great.

Building was beautiful. Restaurant is gorgeous and full of light. Room was incredibly comfortable.

Overall I will probably stay here whenever I return to DC. Thank you to the staff!

Big disappointment. Pretty building, but not more than that. AS A GUEST of the hotel you dont even have any priority to go to the hotel's cafe before the random people from the street - this is absolutely ridiculous and not okay. Men working in security are nice, but the women at the reception do not do their job well. Also, it is a five star hotel and they do not even have adapters for international guests? This is the most basic thing. They only offer to BUY charging sets from them (30$ for one dollar store quality), as if they were not making enough money from the stays. Additionally, guests cannot have any peace in the hotel because there are many people from outside, some events etc. - even the elevators are blocked by those people. And the waiting time for elevators is very long in general. The staff treats those people from events etc.much better than hotel guests. Also, you will hear the maids talking loud through your door, so they will wake you up if you are sleeping. No slippers, no dental kit, no emergency hygienic kit for women, etc. Very poor for 5 star hotel! AC in the hotel is very loud. I do not recommend staying here.

Lovely building in a fabulous location. The lobby and lobby bar are very nice and lively on the weekend but not noisy in the rooms. Great service at the front desk and helped us change rooms when we arrived after booking the wrong one by mistake. Breakfast was delicious in the restaurant. Rooms were nice and spacious except the bathrooms were tight and the water temperature was very wonky. Overall great experience!

Fantastic location, in the centre of DC and just up the road from the national mall. Food was great and the porters were all helpful. Shoutout to Clement (café riggs) and Vincent (porter) for their top service.

The Riggs Hotel is a beautifully wrapped empty Christmas present. Everything imaginable went wrong with our one week stay. We didn't get a room until 2 hours after checking in at 3pm. The lobby has no seating so we had a snack at the bar, which turned out disastrously for my gluten free, dairy free diet. Then we wandered the neighborhood with our computer bags. They eventually gave us an inferior room to the one that was booked and prepaid months beforehand. The room had no electric plugs except at the bedside. They have only an open unsecured wifi network which did not allow me to do my remote work. Upon requesting access to a secure network, they said that they could not provide it. They apologized and offered a glass of water. The hotel has no business center, so don't expect any place to work or sit outside of the hotel room. This is not a hotel for business travelers. For all the inconveniences, they offered free drinks at the bar. We ordered two gin and tonics, only to be told that they were not included with the vouchers. The only drink available was a specific glass of white or red wine. We asked for tonic without the gin. We were then served instead with seltzer water. In the morning, we waited 40 minutes for our breakfast. The gluten free bread was inedible and there were no other gluten free options. We were told that the room we booked was available, we packed our bags, were then told that we would have to stay in the room we were in, then told that the concierge would move our bags to the new room and bring our keys, then they didn't come in time before we had to leave for our tour. The annoyances went on and on, though we finally got the room we paid for. This room had no chairs. All in all we spent a couple of hours in terse and annoying discussions about things you would not expect to go wrong at a hotel that claims to be of this caliber. The building is stunning and the location is unbeatable. But the food is average and there is something bizarre about the communication between employees, although some of them were wonderfully friendly and wanted to be helpful. Had a great week in DC, in spite of the empty promises and inconveniences of a stay at Riggs Hotel.

Very nice hotel. Excellent location. The staff was really nice (especially Carolina at the front desk). Spent 3 nights there, clean, quiet room, nicely decorated. Would recommend it!

We were on a trip to the US to celebrate a very special wedding anniversary. Having just arrived from NYC to DC, we couldn’t have been more grateful for the warm and friendly welcome we had at the Riggs. We were also very kindly given an upgrade. Our overall experience at the Riggs was overwhelmingly positive. The staff were lovely, helpful, friendly and clearly enjoyed working for the hotel.

The room was beautiful, spacious and comfortable. We must mention Muhammed who went out of his way to make our anniversary celebrations very special and arranged a late checkout for us. We would entirely recommend the Riggs Washington and would stay here again if we visit the city. On the day that we checked out, Theodore helped us to arrange a taxi and was the ultimate professional. We also dined at Café Riggs and the food was excellent. Would highly recommend them. Thank you Riggs for a fantastic stay.

Exceptional service and very unique rooms! They very tastefully highlight the building's heritage as a bank.

We stayed here for a wedding, and the event's accommodations were outstanding as well. The rooftop venue offers a great view of the city, and the old vault in the basement has been converted into an art-deco clubroom that is vibrant and cozy.
