Stopped by on my way over to Washington DC. Tried the buffet on Saturday, it's a pretty small buffet, but everything prepared is fresh, even the chutneys. It's pretty hard to find fresh food, especially in a buffet setting. Because restaurants are usually trying to pass leftover food for their buffet. Wood flooring, nice chandelier and friendly service.

This place is amazing. The decor is elegant and inviting. The service is fantastic- I don’t usually eat Indian food, and they were more than happy to give reccomendations.
The food itself is nothing short of fantastic. I got the Paneer Tikka, the Lamb Korma, and a chocolate lava cake with Chai tea. The flavors are incredible, and you can taste the spices used in the dish. The chocolate lava cake is rich and not too sweet. If you are a fan of Indian cuisine come to Cafe India. This place is a HIDDEN GEM! Hands down my favorite Indian restaurant in DC. My coworkers and I came here on a whim 3 years ago go and it’s became our go to place every Tuesday for lunch. The waiters and owners are always so sweet and know us now by name. They even give us little sweet treats
