Chadol Korean BBQ

Extremely disappointing. Unlike most Korean bbqs you order the food and it comes out fully cooked. It seems to take most of the fun out of the whole experience.

I’ve eaten at a number of high-quality KBBQ establishments in the DMV and unfortunately this restaurant was a disappointment. Reasons below in no particular order:

1) The kimchi was too heavy on the vinegar and doesn’t taste anything like traditional “grandma’s” kimchi. The brine vaguely tasted like Keystone Light.
2) The restaurant uses a non-stick grill pan for the BBQ. The best places I’ve been to all use traditional carbon steel pans that can cook the meat at a higher temperature. Nonstick pans aren’t able to reach and retain a high heat, therefore producing no sear on the meat until it’s overcooked. This is critical for a better taste!
3) They charge extra for the steamed egg and rice when most other places include these appetizers in the all-you-can-eat price.
4) The steamed egg was overcooked and had a burnt taste.
5) The meat selection was mediocre and came from cheap cuts.

Positives: Service was good

Frankly I’m surprised this establishment has 4.7 stars on Google. Seems like other reviewers haven’t tried the OG KBBQ spots like Honey Pig and Kogiya.

Great experience our server basically did the cooking for us to make sure it was done properly and efficiently

so glad to have dinner here today. Jonathon was the nicest. he matched our energy and always helped us out.
