Disappointment... We waited 40 minutes for food, medium ribeye steak, unsuccessful burger, chips from burnt oil with the skin of the fat... good atmosphere

Get the churros! So fresh and delicious!
Vegetarian options: They don't have very many vegetarian options. There is 1 salad so delicious vegetarian and other salads you can ask for no meat on top.

I have been to CharBar many times since I made this initial review and likewise many times before they moved to their new location. The kosher food is excellent, the wait times minimal, the staff are thorough and efficient, and its location is easy to access between 2 Metro stops. The prices are inline with kosher food restaurants between New York and Washington, D.C., and are expected to be higher than non-kosher restaurants for similar fare. I am always satisfied.
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan options could be more abundant and more obviously labeled besides a salad sans meat options, but remember this is a kosher "meat" restaurant.
Dietary restrictions: Kosher food only.

Had my 60th birthday dinner with a group of relatives. Food was great, service solid, and it's a nice place. Not outrageously expensive for a kosher steak, but pricy.

I’m greatful to have Char Bar as a kosher option in DC because the options are very limited. It’s evident when we go back each time that they try to switch things up and improve their menu. They’re yemenite chicken soup was very unique and flavorful! We always love their chicken tenders. They started using great meat from grow & behold for their burgers, which makes a big difference! The burgers and sandwiches are all great - our only complaint is that the buns fall apart and make it hard to eat. Overall it’s a very solid option with good food.

I had to walk about 35 minutes from the National Mall to find a Kosher restaurant and it was well worth the walk!!!
I was immediately greeted and seated when I walked in by the wonderful hostess / server. My food came out just as I ordered it soup first which was flavorful and hot followed by one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. I got the Reuben Burger. It was cooked perfectly and topped with some of the best smoked pastrami I have ever eaten and the generous side of hand cut french fries were delicious. I will definitely be coming back for more the next time I am in DC... I highly recommend!!!
