I have been regular custom of cher cher since last 7 years and i love their food. However i visited last week and was surprised by the quantity of food. it was much less in portion compared to previous time. I was also charged with 18% service tax and was asked for additional tip. the price on menu was 21$ and i ended up paying 35$. The cleanliness also did not feel like before, there were many mosquitoes. I dont mind paying extra for good service but this seemed like i am being forced to tip instead of actually appreciating their service.

Friendliness, empathy with tourists, spectacular taste and classic style are what stand out in this wonderful place and very cheap.

Vegetarian platter was not tasty at all. Inerja was good but most of the stuff on it was not it. Sambusas were decent.

The food was alright. Ordered Vegetarian deluxe platter and the different dishes on the plate weren't as flavorful as other Ethiopian restaurants I've been do. Portions were a bit smaller than used to for Ethiopian and a sharable platter. Had to ask multiple times for more napkins and injera. For a hands on eating experience, I would hope for more than 1 napkin for my use.

Thr lamb ribs were not spiced wirh the heat i like with a lamb awazi. The vegatbles were fantastic though the green were not spiced like im used to from Dukem or Ebenezers. The service was not good. We thought about leaving ...twice. first when they made us wait at the bar for 15 -20 minutes while they gave 3 tables away to others who arrived after us. They stated they were seated before us because they had 3 people. We had two. Bad business model as we could have purchased several drinks and been through 1/2 our lunch before they actually sat us. Then, once seated, after waiting another 10 minutes we had to flag down the server to take our order. I also noticed that the table of men next to us were offered extra injero before they even finished what they had yet we sat with no injero and again had to flag a different server for more injero to finish our meal. It was very poor service and I don't like playing the race or gender card but we were in the minority and also women. Im not that upset because it's humbling to experience what my black and brown friends have had to experience their whole life....it's just not so good when your really hungry and drove an hour for Ethiopian food.

The Geba Weta Tibs and Kitfo were amazing! These dishes had the same taste and quality you’d expect in Addis Ababa. The staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Chercher is a wonderful place for anyone looking to experience authentic Ethiopian cuisine. Thank you for the great service!

The vegetarian/vegan sampler (deluxe version!) was magnificent. My preference is spicy food - two of the dishes really stood out - the Ye'misir Kike We't and Fosolia Be Carote.

A small but very lively place in DC. The food is very good and homely and the staff are so friendly! Good vegetarian options. The platter is very filling and a must try here

The lamb was burnt, we were told it was too busy for us to drink tea, and we were rushed out of the restaurant. We spent less than an hour there and service and food have gone down since my last visit a few years ago

5 minutes to get a water and I eventually had to go the bar to get someone to bring waters to our table. Had to ask for menus they were not provided otherwise.

The place may have been Michelin starred in years past but clearly the service has failed to maintain such a standard. The food was fine. Just save yourself the frustration and go elsewhere.
