I was walking by and saw this colorful coffee shop on a lonely corner.
Came in for for churros, iced tea, and a shot of espresso.
Service was good.
The two woman helped me find what I was in the mood for made great recommendations
And sat me at the bar.
It was quite empty so they checked on me and made sure I was okay.
Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area in the mood for a quick snack and drink
I'm not happy leaving this review, because i have order food before which I love. Even referred friends and family. Today I place an order online, ICE COCO MATCHA. No what I expected. I was very disappointed with the drink, the flavor was horrible. The way it looks on the website is not what I received. More milk, hardly any match and the coco was missing. I was going to take it back, but my job is 3 blocks away. I just did not drink it, what a waste of my money and time. But I do like the food. I will still keep referring people. They do have wonderful customers service and food.
We ordered on the screen at the entrance to the restaurant, and were served pretty quickly. The food was excellent and the salads particularly good.
The food here is undeniably delicious—I’ve ordered it to-go many times and always enjoyed it. However, I decided to dine in yesterday and was genuinely surprised by how unwelcoming the service was. I sat at the bar, despite the restaurant being quiet, not busy, with only one other customer beside myself— it took 20 minutes before a glass of water was poured and I was asked if I wanted to order a drink.
When my meal arrived, it was missing avocado—an ingredient that is always included when I order the same dish to-go and an ingredient on the menu. When I asked about it, the woman at the register insisted it didn’t come with the meal but that I could order it separately. After I pointed it out on the menu, she silently walked to the back, returned with an avocado, and simply said, “Here it is,” without any apology or acknowledgment.
As much as I’ve enjoyed the food in the past, this experience has left a bad impression. I likely won’t be returning, whether for dine-in or takeout. Dining in is a hobby of mine and this experience definitely felt unwelcoming compared to other places I’ve dined at in the area.
Tasty and refreshing. When visiting DC, I ate there twice. (19th and N Street location. Excellent service.
I’m very sad to leave this review, because Colada Shop used to be one of my favorite spots near the office. I came here often for lunch and coffee — sometimes even a dessert — and regularly spent $20–25 per visit. The food and ambiance were always a highlight of my day.
Unfortunately, I stopped going after a serious hygiene concern. There were flies visibly buzzing around the pastries in the display case. I brought it to the attention of the staff, but nothing was done — the pastries weren’t removed or covered. That was really disappointing and made me question the cleanliness overall.
I truly hope this is addressed because I’d love to return if food safety is taken more seriously.
I ordered tres leches Cake, but that was what I expected. Also, it was not handmade. If I knew it, I would not order. But the staff were really nice and the drinks were okay.
The food here is always amazing! The staff was very attentive and the food came out very quickly.
Made a reservation but it wasn't needed.
If you want actual talk to a person for bar service, AVOID. They'll rudely refer you to a QR code plastered on the table like some sort of AI bar in LA. If you don't want to talk to a person, this is your place.
In love

Colada shop was so good!
1) if you love espresso this is the place for you. The espresso was balanced and was true to its notes.
2) went back for another drink this time i had cafe bon bon which marta helped me pick. She was attentive, recommended things, and helped me pick out what i wanted.
Amazing hospitality and customer service will be back for happy hour!
Great vegetarian options! My son loved the avocado toast. The guava pastelitos were delicious and tasted homemade! The people there were very friendly. We can’t wait to go again.
Upon arrival breakfast time, the waitress and the host was very kind, very warm.
And willing to hear me out. I had the Cuban with the guava barbecue sauce. Add-on. Then, as a snack, I purchased a Tres leche and key lime pie . Also a guave and cheese pastry puff.
And a cool colada slush
Simple and Amazing flavor
In stead of purchasing from goldbelly I walked in while in DC
The service here is very kind, the Cuban sandwich solid! And the crema on the cafe Cubano thick and sweet, and they gladly give you extra!
Edgar and Ana were awesome! Very friendly service and such great food and coffee, I love the Cortadito there, and Empanadas are delicious as well.
