We went to celebrate our elopement and heard good things from friends, so we gave it a try. The service was some of the worst I've ever had. The host was miffed that our reservation was for one additional guest than the original reservation, and when I apologized for the oversight, they just looked at me at sighed. Might, I add that there were fewer than 10 patrons in the restaurant at that time. Our server was friendly but inattentive. They were not available when we needed additional items, and didn't bring out syrup for the pancakes. My order was completely incorrect, but I said nothing because I was afraid nothing would be done to rectify it in the time the server would take to get back to the kitchen. I'm sorry, but I probably won't be back. Especially dissatisfied and disappointed, especially since it was such an important day for us.

The food was great - we made a reservation and we were seated immediately. We ordered coffees and one came out relatively quickly, but the other two coffees didn't come out until we were seated for 30 minutes and already had our food - our server got the order wrong and informed us they had not only run out of pint glasses but they had run out of oatmilk (she brought one with whole milk in it). Wouldn't have been a big deal but we barely saw her prior to this so it was a little frustrating.

My son, who is a picky eater, loved this place! Had reservations on a Sunday and went back later in the week and got in no problem while on vacation. Cool local vibe and very friendly service.

I was not sure about this place, but it sounded good. I m glad I tried the place out. Absolutely had a great time, food and drinks. The atmosphere was relaxed. We chose had to sit at the bar as we did not reserve a table.

We were offered a comfortable corner table. Service was excellent. We ordered the avocado wrap, NY strip steak and short rib. All absolutely delicious. Not too expensive either. So good that we decided to go back for breakfast the next morning.

Really disappointed of the service, even though you have a reservation they do the minimum to accommodate your party. The host with excuses when tables are empty, with no one showing up. I wouldn’t come back, after that start is a bitter meal, rushing us to order since it took so long to negotiate (and it didn’t work). Not family friendly either.

As new arrivals, we knew nothing about the area, we were simply on our way to Whole Foods when we saw the sign across the street and decided to check it out. Needless to say we forgot to go to the store after that. The food was so great, I cleaned my plate, my wife's plate, the snack platter, and had to order additional pitas to wipe clean the sauces. We will for sure come back again! This stop made me believe that DC is a great city.

Good looking place. It's unfortunate that service was bad. We had to ask for more coffee and for a food ETA...I think waiter forgot to place our order!

Came to Commissary for Breakfast, I wasn’t feeling my best and the waitress took such good care of me! They didn’t rush, they continued ask if I needed anything. They even brought more pancakes when mines became cold from eating to slow. When I’m DC definitely visit the Commissary they definitely know how to treat people.

Commissary is a true gem in D.C. We were a group of 5 and due to various transportation issues we were about a half hour late for our mid-afternoon Sunday reservation. I fully expected we'd end up having to find somewhere else to eat, but they graciously and kindly accommodated us. The drinks were very good and the food was excellent. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. We'd recommend the chicken quesadilla (my fave), fish tacos and burger. Their fries are wonderful as well. The atmosphere is really cozy, like your favorite local coffee shop and the bar is comfortable and spacious. It's all very welcoming. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely keep this place in mind when we're in the area.

Local hotspot in the Logan Circle neighborhood. Open daily starting with breakfast at 8AM with dinner service ending at 9PM or 9:30PM (Fri and Sat), this place features full bar, indoor and outdoor seating as well as lounge space. The menu is a mix of items, most veterans telling me they have never been disappointed. I went with the brussel sprouts, which were OMG good with several foodies present and in agreement. I also did the chicken marsala, which was excellent with a lovely creamy sauce - very filling. For dessert, we did a peanut butter inspired cheesecake - amazing and an absolutely sinful chocolate brownie covered in ice cream. The guys took me here for my retirement send off, and it really could not have been better.
