Menu Inaccuracy & Severe Allergic Reaction
This restaurant is one of my favorite restaurants in the DC area, and I was extremely disappointed by my experience after its renovation when I visited with my partner for his birthday. I've been here many times, always ordering the Chicken Tikka Masala pizza because it's truly one of the best pizzas I've ever had. This was not the case when we visited after their recent renovation. The restaurant has taken a new turn with Korean food on the menu and a cafeteria style atmosphere where you get your utensils, water, and everything. This is absolutely not an issue as they still had my favorite pizza on the menu. The options on the menu for pizza flavors were: Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, and Margarita.
I ordered and paid for the pizza up front at the register before sitting down upstairs. The food came quickly but the pizza was entirely different from our usual Chicken Tikka Masala. Without informing anyone of this change, the kitchen served a pizza that had a completely different look and taste (including bell peppers, onions). This was after our experience, but I have since checked other reviews and with friends who ate at the restaurant and ordered the same pizza when they went. The pizza we were served was actually the Chicken Tikka pizza and not the Chicken Tikka Masala pizza. The restaurant has decided to replace the Chicken Tikka Masala pizza with the Chicken Tikka pizza, without telling anyone.
In any case, we ate the pizza because we wanted to give it a try. Unfortunately, the pizza definitely has a very different set of ingredients from the Chicken Tikka Masala pizza as we both suffered severe allergic reactions to (most likely) nuts in the pizza. My issue with the restaurant is two-fold here: why serve a Chicken Tikka pizza if the menu says Chicken Tikka Masala and why is there no allergy warning for the pizza?
I understand that there is an allergy warning up front at the cash register, but it's clear to me that this warning serves as a catch-all rather than being anything helpful for the restaurant patrons. It would've been helpful if the restaurant marked that there would be nuts in a pizza that 1) is not the correct pizza and 2) definitely has nuts.
Again, this is one of our favorite places to eat in DC and we were really disappointed by our experience, especially for a birthday. Due to the severe allergic reactions, we were unable to keep the food down and couldn't eat for the rest of the night as well.

I feel bad because the cashier was super nice and the portions were okay but this was one of the worst meals of my life. The Korean dishes and the Indian pizzas might be really good, but the curries and the naans are AWFUL. The naans are crispy (?) and the curries do not taste right. I went here with my Indian partner and we couldn’t finish our food. They were nice, but it was a waste of money. We ended up going to Chickfila 🥲

This place is a MESS. That's unfortunate because I LOVE their Lamb Vindaloo and Chicken Tikka Masala pizzas. Truly unique!
They used to be a reliable delivery option. NO MORE! I try to order through Slice because it saves local shops money. But after ordering regularly for a long time, my last two orders have been COMPLETELY IGNORED. Canceled with no notification whatsoever.
I saw on their website they have their own app, and it is absolute garbage. You can't even read the menu items. I tried to order my favorite on there, and it said "Online ordering isn't available." On their OWN APP!
Get your stuff together! Loyal customer LOST.

So the pizza and the pakoras were good. The server was very friendly, but it looks like this location is still trying to figure out its business model.
On the other hand The Indian food was lackluster with a generic taste to it.

Very disappointed with my recent dining experience.
The server never refilled our water or asked if we needed anything, showing little care for customer needs. Because of this, I chose not to leave a tip and clearly stated that when paying.
However, a few days later, I noticed they had added a tip without my consent. This feels like a dishonest charge, and it's extremely frustrating. This unprofessional behavior is unacceptable, and I won’t be returning. This is very RUDE.

I moved to the Georgetown neighborhood a year ago, and Curry N Pie made me fall in love with Washington, DC. Their chicken tikka masala pizza is an instant classic and they are always at the top of my list when people ask for restaurant recommendations in the area.

As a Georgetown student, I’ve consistently had great experiences with Curry N Pie, both for dine-in and take-out. Whether you get pizza or another menu item, the food is always fresh, hot, and delicious. Curry N Pie is such a community staple, and I couldn’t imagine the Georgetown neighborhood without it!

favorite restaurant in Georgetown. A staple for Georgetown students. It’s “the place” to take out of town guests.

The upstairs window spot is my favorite restaurant seat in all of Georgetown! Whenever I go there the food is always good and I feel very at home. There’s no closer and better of a place to eat off campus, especially in an area with so little food diversity

We ordered one pizza with medium spicy and the other non spicy. Both pizzas served were super hot spicy. Waisted time and money.
The food couldn’t be better. This place is such a staple in Georgetown.

No better place to eat in Georgetown! Great food, great service. Love going in person only slightly less than ordering for catering at any event I’ve hosted!!
