3-stars for service due to multiple requests for a finger bowl of warm water. When the requested was answered, it was presented in an aluminum bowl, plated, with a drying cloth ... but the water was cold!I agree with the reviews, $100 per person, we ordered tapas servings, no entrees. No dessert. Drinks ordered. Everything tasted wonderful. Over priced. You're paying for the location.

Everything we ordered was extra special and delicious. Excellent service and ambiance. Each dish was like a piece of art, presented with every detail in mind.

Wow! That was a ripoff. At $140 for two people, “Signature” paella should be an opportunity for a Spanish-themed seafood restaurant to show what it can deliver. The dish, featuring Maine lobster, prawns, mussels and monkfish was a tray of greasy almost-cooked rice topped with the carcass of a Maine lobster into which two tiny bits of lobster meat had been placed. I wonder how many times the same lobster shell must have been served that night. The poor guy should have been given his last rights and laid to rest in a dignified manner. But he probably kept getting encores after our performance. There were also a few microscopic mussels and some chips of a white fish-like material that might have been monkfish but were too small to taste. The Wharf is a lovely, lively place with a lot of foot traffic. A restaurant can probably prosper on an approach that doesn’t assume that anyone will ever return. We ate here when Del Mar first opened. It was a pretty good. But they appear to have subsequently adopted a business plan that is not predicated on serving good food. We ate there so you don’t have to.

Great Lunch with a ViewWe ordered the Lunch Express on the patio, which was a light and refreshing spring menu. The house Cava was the perfect wine for the afternoon. The Lubina tartare was a stunning presentation of sea bass, shallots, almonds and sea salt granules, covered with scales of razor thin grapes and dressed with citrus and olive oil. The textures and flavors were balanced and delicious. The codfish stew was deftly prepared in a delicate fish broth with chorizo, pimenton and chickpeas. The dessert was a simple treat to end a fine meal. Christian was our server and he was pleasant and attentive throughout.

I had the privilege of collaborating with Grace H., the event manager. She exhibited responsiveness, patience, accommodation, and kindness throughout our interactions. Her team was equally delightful to work with, exemplifying professionalism from beginning to end. The cuisine was exceptional, contributing to the overall success of the event. Without a doubt, they’ve secured a top spot on my list for future event venues.

Seafood Paella was excellent however pricy. Never been charged for a glass of water either until now. Overall would not recommend this place from a value for the money perspective.

Beautiful restaurant of Spain right in Washington, DC on Wharf strip. My husband and I enjoyed our Tapas lunch. And the most delicious dessert cake I’ve ever personally had (in the top 3) is the Cherry Blossom Cake for two. There is edible specks of gold on it. It comes with lemon sorbet. I highly recommend that desert.
