A warning to anyone searching for true Chicago-style deep dish or stuffed pizza… this isn’t it.

I ordered on Uber Eats, and the first red flag was that it was picked up only 20 minutes after I placed the order. A real deep dish takes much longer to bake than an average pizza.

The sausage was honestly offensive — the texture was strange, almost like zombie flesh. I’ve never had sausage like this on a pizza. I’m used to the classic chunky pieces with Italian seasoning and fennel. This was rough. Even my boyfriend, who is not picky at all, took one bite and spit it out.

The pizza itself was undercooked. There was no cheese pull — the cheese was stiff and moved like putty. At the same time, the bottom and edges of the crust were burnt.

The only positive thing I can say is that the sauce was fine. I did end up getting a refund through Uber Eats. The pizza was packaged very nicely and with care, so I’ll give them that…but It was a shame throwing it in the dumpster.

I hate to be harsh, but this has the look of Chicago style — not the flavor.

Excellent pizza in a small place at the end of East Capitol Street. They have a great variety of well-made pizzas: Detroit-style, Nonna (grandmother's pizza), Chicago-style and New York pizza, although this last one is really Neapolitan rather than true NY pizza. Still excellent. I haven't tried the Chiczgo yet, but all of the others had great crusts and fantastic red sauce. Cozy atmosphere. Service can be a bit slow at busy times.

Probably the best pizza with the best variety in DC.

However, having only person who waits on all the tables and makes all the drinks results in very slow service.

Dining room is very small and doesn’t take reservations, but it’s cozy and has a wonderful window view.

Pizza was alright. Nothing special. Smaller than listed, thicker than what can be called NY style.

$11.55 for a tiramisu smaller than a parfait cup.

Pizza is so good and you can get so many different kinds. They all taste so good and different. The space is small, limited seating, and you order via QR code but definitely worth going to capital hill especially if you want deep dish or chicago style.

My family and I LOVE pizza and are always looking for a new pizza place we haven't tried. After looking online this past weekend we ventured out to Della Barba with hope and just a good feeling, we were NOT disappointed ! My wife and I ordered the NY style pepperoni and my daughter the Detroit Cheese, W O W !!! This is our new favorite pizza place. We also ordered the garlic bread and I had a Caesar Salad. Everything we ordered well exceeded our expectations. We will be back, I will take pics next time. We all highly recommend Della Barba.

Tynisha has phenomenal customer service! I had a small problem (normal for any business when you are seeing thousands of people) and she handled it with excellent service. My family orders food most fridays…the nonna style is amazing! Thanks again Tynisha for taking care of us.

Ordered out their Chicago deep dish and it was amazing! I definitely recommend ordering the meatball topping! The cheese was great with that classic stretch.

Service was great I asked about reheating options since I had a bit of a drive and they were very helpful, you will enjoy the food at della barba pizza!
