I’m just here to tell you guys that this bar is not inside Shakespeare Theatre Company like Google says. Walk around the corner and go down the stairs with the black railing.
A cool speak easy near Capital One Arena. You have to enter down a side stairwell. There is bar seating and table seating. Drinks are good, staff is friendly, and service is a bit slower than I would’ve preferred. Would recommend for a date or a drink.

Been coming to this spot for awhile and the atmosphere and service have always been top notch. Friendly bar staff, quality drinks, and a chill, classy vibe have made this my go-to bar even though I live across the river. Some recent, one-star reviews have panned the place on the basis of some bold accusations, which are patently untrue: As a patron who was at the bar that night, this group was completely out of pocket and out of line, antagonizing bar staff out of nowhere as instigators before leaving in a huff when their abhorrent behavior wasn't tolerated. Staff are a class act, and I will be back again and again. If you're looking for a quiet, upscale bar to make your regular hang, look no further. Denson Liquor Bar is the place for you.

Cocktails like the ones Lavelle makes really speak for themselves, but low and behold the ambiance, presentation, conversation, and service are stellar as well. Absolutely worth traveling for.

Awful experience. Poor service. Subpar pricey cocktails. A woman on staff at this bar was spewing racially charged remarks against people who don’t speak “American.” This for obvious reasons upset customers at the bar, resulting in the server, yelling and insulting patrons at the bar. Managers laughed and otherwise could not be bothered choosing to drink at the bar rather than attempt to de-escalate the situation. Will not be returning. They’re plenty of other places to spend your money that are not bystanders in the face of bigotry.
