A Truly Memorable Anniversary Dinner at DinVino

We celebrated our anniversary at DinVino, and I can confidently say this was one of the most beautiful dining experiences we’ve ever had.

First off, the dining room is stunning—warm, intimate, and tastefully elegant. We had a 5:00 PM reservation and arrived about 15 minutes early. Although dinner service doesn’t officially begin until 5, the staff kindly seated us in the dining room and offered drinks instead of asking us to wait at the bar. That small act of hospitality set the tone for the entire evening.

We originally hoped to take advantage of happy hour, which is available only at the bar or outside patio, but our incredibly gracious waiter made an exception and allowed us to order from the happy hour menu from our table. We were so appreciative of this gesture. We ended up ordering four appetizers (two from happy hour menu and two from regular menu), two drinks, two entrees, a tiramisu, and another glass of wine. Everything was delicious; the flavors were balanced.

When I mentioned toward the end of our meal that it was our anniversary and how much we loved the food, our waiter surprised us by offering us a taste of limoncello, a traditional Italian after-dinner digestive. It was such a sweet and unexpected touch that made our evening even more special.

We were never rushed and ended up staying until around 7 or 7:30. The staff gave us space while still being attentive shoutout to the people who brought out our food, cleared our plates, and the gentleman who checked on us after the meal. Everyone made us feel welcome and cared for. We were even lucky enough to have the dining room basically to ourselves, which made the evening feel like a private, romantic dinner.

A huge thank you to our waiter, who was incredibly kind and professional throughout and didn’t even know until the very end that it was a special occasion. You made our night.

My only (very small) critique: I wish bread had been included and that the steak came with at least one side. But those are minor things in what was otherwise a truly wonderful night.

We’re so grateful to DinVino for this memorable evening. I’ll absolutely be recommending this place to others and will definitely be back. 💛

When we got there, we realized that there was no parking except on the streets, or we had to pay for the hotel parking. We ordered the burrata, oysters, and salad for our appetizers, and when they came, they told us they didn't have the oysters or the fish for a dish we ordered. The burrata dish didn't come with a real burrata ball, and it was just a hard mozzarella ball. In addition to that, the beets tasted horrible. They gave us a heirloom tomato dish because of the problem with not having the food we ordered. The tomatoes were either soggy or frozen. When our food came, there weren't many scallops, and they had a taste of burnt oil. The pasta we ordered tasted like an average microwave meal from your local grocery store. We ordered potatoes on the side, and they came when we were basically done with our food. It's like they forgot and made it really quickly. Same burnt oil taste, and it came with a lot of oil. There were only three servers working, and they didn't check on us and took their time to do everything. Worst experience

Wonderful experience from beginning to end. We popped in for happy hour (4-6 daily) and enjoyed Italian wine, meatballs, and a flatbread. The ambiance was breezy and welcoming. There is a more formal restaurant in the main hotel and an open air bar and lounge area right outside. Street parking was easy to find one block away. My husband and I have visited Italy many times and this food is legit. The mozzarella used is high quality, not shredded nonsense from the grocery store. You could easily see the shredded parsley in the meatball, another indication of the quality of food. The waitstaff were warm and friendly. Overall a wonderful experience. We will be back!

Super disappointing experience for the Cena in Rose pairing dinner. First time at the restaurant after following their opening and one of their Chef’s Daniel Perron. Went to the pre-rosé festival in their outside courtyard area, which was nice, but they already showcased and gave a complementary portion of the very pasta that was the main meal of the tasting dinner. The servers seemed confused and didn’t know what they were doing. Service was extremely slow in the restaurant, despite only three tables being occupied. We only got two of the wine pairings since we asked for the dessert to go. Our reservations were at six and we were still there until 730. I felt extremely hungry- no bread- no complementary anything to start. I also did not realize it was a vegetarian meal as well. It did not seem worth the $65 p/p cost considering we got mostly the same things complimentary in the pre festival prior.

Honestly our dinner had the worst service we have had in years. It took a half hour for us to be given waters and then literally another half hour to get a salad. They offer a meal trio with the first course being soup or salad and they literally didn’t even have a soup available. Our waiter would disappear for long stretches of time and couldn’t answer basic questions about the menu. The actual atmosphere is nice and food is average, but not worth the cost.

Got the wrong wine, and my “crostini” is literally 4 crackers that came straight out of a box. Pretty disappointing.

It was a quiet and slow night when I went, but the service, food, and ambiance were still top notch.

I ordered the pasta primavera and basically ascended to enlightenment. Easily the best primavera I've had in my lifetime.

Our server was lovely, and it seemed like the staff adjusted the music to match the clientel, which was surprising and appreciated.

Despite being a restaurant attached to a hotel in a less trafficed neighborhood (Glover Park), the quality was superb. I'd consider it a hidden gem of the city, and I will be bringing out-of-town guests in the future.
