I saw a guy urinating on the sidewalk on my way there.
The food was great though.

Very delicious Japanese food — the first bite was stunning! The portions are also very generous; it was the first time I finished the rice while still having fish left… The environment is great too, with self-service ordering, which is perfect for shy people.

Donburi in DC totally hit the spot. The flavors and quality were right on par with what we used to have back in Japan!

Some of the best shrimp tempura in town, with crispy outside and perfectly cooked shrimp. Portions are generous and service is quick and efficient. We discovered this place by pur chance and we will definitely com back!

Came with my girlfriend because we were craving some curry and Donburi did not disappoint. The Katsudon is amazing! They even gave us some extra curry to take home! Definitely coming back!!

Good choice if you are craving this kind of food, which happens to the best of us every now and then. Service is fast, the bowls are quite good and the price is ok. The main weakness for me was the portioning. I found the bowls to be very small. For that price, I would like to feel full at the end of the meal. I really wasn't.. Apart from that, if you need good food right away, in its weight class, this place will always be a safe bet.

It's really convenient place to eat. They use kiosk for the order. The food is delicious. It's hard to find places with fresh and high quality salmon for sakedon. This place served consistently delicious and fresh dish.

This was my second visit, and I really enjoyed my first time here. The food was great.
Unfortunately, today’s experience was a bit disappointing. While the first bite with the eel was fine, the chicken was quite chewy and dry, which was unexpected since it was very tender during my last visit. It tasted like the chicken had been fried earlier in the day and wasn’t freshly made.
Additionally, there was a mosquito that kept bothering me throughout the meal, and I ended up with three bites.

Very authentic. When I close your eyes, I feel like I’m in Japan. Tried the toridon (chicken) and butadon (pork) - both are excellent. The wasabi is strong but very good and authentic.

Nice little Japanese restaurant tucked away near Dupont Circle. A little on the pricey side for the portions given but still pretty good

It's hard finding good Japanese curry in DC, but they do a great job. Their katsu is also great; tori, ebi, and ton. All of them are delicious. It's a great place for a cheapish lunch and I'd say that they have a good portion size too. I'll try and post photos soon.
