It was our first time eating Ethiopian and the food was very delicious! The dishes came quickly and the waitress was really kind and gave us good recommendations on what to order. The ambiente was pleasant and the music fire as well :)

A happy hour date at Dukem was right on time! After a busy day of work and running errands, my wife and I settled on Ethiopian food for dinner and that’s when I remembered seeing Instagram advertisement and Google reviews for happy hour at Dukem so we decided to give it a go! The food was fresh, service was great and the establishment welcoming. Since the weather was nice, we decided to sit outside on the terrace area. We really enjoyed the special beef tibs, pieces so flavorful and tender, the sambusas, both the chicken and spinach. I ordered the Shiro and gomen, while my wife ordered the misir wot and alicha kik, awesome portion size for the price and shareable with the injera. While waiting on our order we had a chance to speak with one of the owners, Yodit, very sweet of her checking in on how the evening and service was going. We will definitely be back again and can’t wait to check out more of the menu. I recommend Dukem be your next DC Ethiopian restaurant to check out and also check out their happy hour specials.

I had dinner at Dukem for the first time and found the food to be delicious. I eat Ethiopian a lot and found their tomato salad to be among the best. I highly recommend the restaurant.

The BEST FOOD In MAV area, IMPECCABLE #HOSPITALITY ;)
Stay Away! Quality of food has gone down and prices have gone up. Orfers beef and lamb tips. Food tastes re-fried and old. It was great once upon a time. Now Dukem is bad! They should demolish and build something better there.

DoorDash order… Everything tastes like old leftovers, and I'm so disappointed. I was expecting high-quality food. My fish was overcooked because it seemed old and refried. The sides tasted like they were two days old; nothing was fresh or hot. I can see why they were closing, it’s not good at all.

Dukem is our go to place for ordering Ethiopian food. The lamb tibs are wonderful and the combos are great when you've got 6-7 people over for dinner. It's spicy, but flavorful and the injera is excellent.

Service and atmosphere was nice but the food was very disappointing-- did not taste fresh, fish had no seasoning whatsoever, injera was cold (like it came straight out of the fridge to our table), and the meal made both me and the person I was with feel terrible afterwards. I hate leaving a bad review but was so disappointed as this was a favorite spot back in the day.
