Went for Sunday brunch as it was the easiest option if you are staying at the Mayflower. Brunch items were ok but not anything unusual or memorable. Basic items but pricey for what you are getting. If you are staying at the hotel and prefer not to walk anywhere then it's a good option.

We had flown in from the west coast. We're tired and hungry, staying at the Mayflower. We had appetizers, a drink and dessert. It was perfect and Ty was wonderful, as was his server who worked with him.

The early dinner crowd was very small, but the server would not wait on us until our third person arrived. The server was apathetic and at times difficult. Th food was badly prepared: we sent back two of the three entrees. The manager tried to be sympathetic, but he was disinterested. I cannot recommend, and I certainly will not return.

We had a great experience at both happy hour and breakfast. Prices for happy hour were some of the best in DC! Breakfast seemed expensive but the portion was decent. The service was outstanding and we would return.

Wonderful, attentive service. So many great choices on the menu. Settled on signature clam chowder and brown butter salmon and both were fantastic. Nice selection of wines to accompany. Can't wait to return to try other menu offerings.

Our server was so pleasant. We ate here two mornings in a row since we stayed at the hotel and he remembered us and was so friendly and attentive. Delicious food and love that they open so early for breakfast and that they take reservations for busier times.

Had the pleasure of visiting Edgar bar & kitchen three times during our weekend stay. Everything from food, service & atmosphere was excellent.

We started with the chowder, still the recipe from 1925, which was absolutely out. The beets in whipped feta cheese is also recommended. Entrees were the salmon and the sea bass. The later was in a sauce with a variety of vegetables such as corn, Lima beans, tomatoes, etc. It had a South American preparation, it seems, with just the right amount of spice to it, and again it is highly recommended. The restaurant was very busy due to a conference at the Mayflower but the service was excellent and the noise level a bit high. Overall, it was an excellent dinner and Edgar's is highly recommended!!!

Food and drinks were very good. Small food menu, no specials. Service could've been better. There didn't seem to be one server assigned to a table or section like most places. Multiple people served us which seemed to make the drinks take a bit longer, and service wasn't overly friendly or personable.

Nice location. Tasty food, smaller portion sizes. For the price one would expect more. Ambience nice. Even though we had reservations we were sitted by the bar which was a bit noisy.

The food was just okay -- not bad, but didn't really stand out either. I got the chicken confit and some parts of it were cold. For the location and prices I expected a lot better food.

I was really excited to celebrate my goddaughter's 21st birthday dinner at the Edgar Bar and Kitchen at The Mayflower Hotel. Despite the food being good it was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. One of the orders was messed up had to wait for almost 15 minutes for the correct order to come out after everyone already had their food. No apology. We had one cocktail each and the waitress never asked if we wanted another one. When the bill came, that was wrong too and when I pointed it out to the waitress she tried to tell me it was fine because she didn't charge for the chicken wings. Instead charged for a salad we didn't have that was $12 more than the wings. Overall, it was a really disappointing experience.

Our flight was delayed so we checked in around midnight at the Mayflower. We had breakfast here because we were pressed for time the next morning and we were very disappointed: cold, watery, barely cooked hash and $6/person coffee! Not doing this again on our 7 night stay.
