It's our neighborhood spot for 10+ years. Tacos are still good, prices aren't the same, service is mostly good. It's no longer a cheap spot with the forced service charge and added tip on top. It's ridiculous that DC tipping has become a major rip off

Summary: Good spot for your taco and Tequila fix. Small space + popular = evening reservations mandatory.

So here's my one bad experience - I've been going to El Chu Cho since it opened, a while ago for sure. It's a small place so space was always at a premium. Reservations were sometimes a must, not a big deal. Unfortunately, the last time I went, a friend and I were given the OK to sit anywhere in the outdoor area. About 45mins into some tacos...

I have been here a few times with my friends for Happy hour. The food is quick. the only thing they need to say that they don't split check and everything is on one check, it ends up being hard to break up. we had a nice service a host of wonderful food runners..I do want to suggest having 2 servers upstairs during the happy hour. my guy was great but the parties were large and it was just him taking the orders. The atmosphere is great!!!!!!
