Stopped by this establishment on our way to dinner for a pre dinner drink. I got a Hugo's boss at the bar and it tasted and smelled like a wet sock (mildew-y). Was very confused? Anyways, it was disgusting. There was a lemon peel garnish in my drink so I am assuming it was because the lemon or maybe the glass had not been washed properly? However, I did drink my partners drink and there was not the same mildew scent / taste. We proceeded to drink our drinks and chatted for a few moments before the bartender comes up to my partner and asks if he would like another drink, and she did not even acknowledge my presence. Even though I had just about the same amount left of my drink as him. This was extremely odd and rude. Unfortunately, a 20% auto grat is included in the bill. The service received here did not constitute a 20% tip.

This place was one of the best I visited in DC. The service was on point, the staff were all helpful and professional. I sat at the bar and was treated to freshly sliced prosciutto and melon, followed by amazing pizza. I'm somewhat of a pizza snob and this place hit the spot. Hit up Ettos and you'll be happy you did.

Let me just start with the 20% surplus they add to your tab that it’s not even optional, and it’s not going towards the gratuity. Food was OK, pizza had the potential to be very good but ended up being soggy. Meatballs were deli but nothing out of this world. Wouldn’t go back.

Nice, cozy place but nothing special about the pizzas. You could pay less for something with more flavor, plus a 20% service is already included (It is not optional)
Vegetarian options: Lots of true Italian classics that are vegetarian and beautifully presented

Excellent food and really nice cozy atmosphere. Best selection of amari I’ve seen at a restaurant in a while, so if you’re into some nice herbal liquors this is a great spot!

First time stopping here for dinner. Arrived right at 5pm and there were plenty of bar and table seats available (they don't take reservations). The restaurant filled up quickly by 6pm.Bar tender was helpful and took great care of those sitting in the bar area. For happy hour, they have a few cocktails and some bar bites. I started with their spritz, which was delicious. After cocktails, a pecorino cheese plate with honey and chives accompanied by a glass of wine was a great segue to a perfectly made italian pizza. My only regret is that I didn't have enough room to try the affogato!10/10 would come here again.

Came in for wine and snacks. The wine was great (recommend the Alba red). Food was good but a little overpriced for the portion size ($10 for a little serving of potatoes). We paid $135 for a bottle of wine and 3 apps.Subtracting another star because of the weird 20% service charge that is advertised as “not a tip.” Are you expected to tip an additional 20% on top of that? Very confusing.
Nice, energetic atmosphere and good food. Enjoyed sitting at the bar, and definitely recommend the extensive amaro menu.

I love the food here! Order the sicilian eggplant or margherita pizza, deviled eggs, burrata, or fava bean crostini! Excellent wine choices!
