After a week of trying mediocre places in DC, a friend invited me to try “Etto” night. Much to my pleasant surprise Etto is a great pizza place on 14th street that also has small sharable plates. We tired the octopus and bean salad, and the “Americana” pizza. Everything was delicious, I loved the salad, and the pizza tasted so fresh with great ingredients. Enjoyed the Italian appetizer/small bites and pizza at Etto’s. A really nice selection of appys - we got a bunch. Anchovy with parsley and egg was really good. Also eggplant bruschetta and burrata. Ricotta was very fresh. Loved the pizza from the wood burning oven. It was a small space and a little on the loud side, but no big deal. Very friendly hostess and wait staff. Service was surprisingly fast for a crowded Friday night. Did not have a long wait for a table.
I really loved this restaurant. Normally, I think pizza is an overpriced dish despite being a simple meal with just a few ingredients. However, these people here have shattered all my preconceptions. They make the most high-quality and delicious pizza I've had in this area.
