Food .. uneatable .. and overpriced ... the place is well decorated with luxury and elegance .. but our service was not good or satisfactory ...

Beautiful restaurant overlooking the water, outstanding service, and amazing seafood. I had read some of the reviews that were less than stellar but everything that we ordered was fantastic. We started off with their eggplant appetizer, which was full roasted eggplant -- delicious. For the main entree, I was debating between their grilled calamari and the scallops and the server recommended we share a half portion of the calamari and get the scallops. Great recommendation. The scallops were out of this world and a generous portion too. My wife's fish was delicious as well. No complaints about anything. The prices are a bit on the higher side but it's worth it when the food and the ambiance matches expectations. A definite 5 star for me.

The entire experience was amazing. Location and views are great service was terrific. We enjoyed everything we had from handcrafted cocktails through the many layered chocolate cake. -1 star for the "vegetarian" ravioli noted on the menu as a vegetarian dish. Kudos to our server for calling out the chicken stock in the sauce and many thanks chef for making a change for the vegetarian in the group. To other vegan or vegetarians, excuse yourself when they bring out the cart with the fish options. But for the omnivorous in the crowd it's a part of the experience!

Beautiful restaurant located off the water in Georgetown. We came here for my birthday to celebrate before catching a show at the Kennedy center. The good - the bartender nailed my Mocktail flavor profile request of something spicy but not too sweet. The burrata and tuna starters were delicious. The bad - the mains and sides left a lot to be desired. My lobster ravioli arrived lukewarm, so I asked whether the dish was meant to be hot or cold because the lukewarm temperature was not working. Apparently the chef that night did not enjoy the request and flame broiled the dish upon remaking it. I mean the sauce broke, no micro flowers (as in the initial photo shown) and it was inedible. Then the server brought us mashed potatoes instead of the Brussels sprouts we ordered - both sides were lack luster. So I was hungry and waiting so my bf shared his branzino which was well cooked and flavorful. After the fiasco the restaurant tried to make up for the mishaps. With extra truffles and complimentary birthday dessert in addition to the stale vanilla cake. It was an experience... maybe it was just an off night, but I do not see myself returning.

We went here for my sister's birthday so special occasion. The bar was nice, and drinks were excellent. Dinner wasn't so great--the food was way overpriced and my filet mignon was overseasoned (the rice in particular). We also got the sense that they were trying to upcharge us--offering us bread for $10. At restaurants of this caliber (and price point), you shouldn't expect that. Also, we had no view at all, which is why we chose this place. I wouldn't go back.

Excellent shrimp cocktail, I’d go back and just eat that all day. Pasta carbonara was just ok. Service and food are always great. I feel like the atmosphere is feeling dated. Very loud and crowded.

A Culinary Gem in DC: My Fiola Mare ExperienceDiscovering Fiola Mare in Washington, DC, was a revelation that unveiled why some restaurants stand out enough to be awarded prestigious accolades like Michelin stars or Travelers' Choice awards. From the moment I entered Fiola Mare, the ambiance wasn't the only aspect that struck me; it was the warm welcome and exceptional customer service that truly set the tone for the evening. The dining experience kicked off with their East Coast oysters, which were nothing short of amazing. Fresh, briny, and perfectly chilled, they were an ideal start to the culinary journey. For the main course, the filet mignon cooked to a perfect medium was a masterpiece of flavors and textures, showcasing the chef's prowess and attention to detail.Dessert was an unexpected delight: Bombolini, or small donuts, ended the meal on a high note, striking the perfect balance between sweet and light.Fiola Mare is not just a restaurant; it's a destination for those who appreciate fine dining in a romantic setting. It's a must-visit for foodies and anyone looking to create a memorable dining experience in DC. The combination of exquisite food, stunning decor, and impeccable service makes Fiola Mare deserving of its high praise and accolades. For anyone visiting DC, I wholeheartedly recommend adding Fiola Mare to your itinerary. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking to indulge in some of the city's finest cuisine, Fiola Mare will not disappoint.Skal,BN

Exceptional experience for my wife’s birthday. It’s a beautiful location on the Potomac, just blocks from the Kennedy Center. But the food and especially the service was excellent. Our server, David P, and the rest of the wait staff really made the whole evening a wonderful experience.

From an atmosphere standpoint, this is really two different restaurants. The main area is nice even if you are not by a window. We arrived on time for our reservation and our party was very well dressed. We were seated in a back room that had all the ambience of a Waffle House (I love Waffle House but that was not the tone of this evening). I voiced my displeasure but it was to no avail. We won’t be back.

Everything was over the top. Con: Was offered bread for the table and was charged for it. Was thinking it was complimentary. Nope. Ended up coming off the tip?
