Best bakery in dc!!Tried a cinnamon roll with icing and it was delicious. Spinach and feta crossisant was super tasty and so was chocolate espresso cookie. Also got a vanilla oat milk iced coffee and it was very good. Super nice staff and very fast service. Great prices.

Firehook Bakery is a Dupont Circle classic. I really like the coffee here, especially with their $1.95 drip coffee, which is hard to find in the DC area. Coffee has a strong roast, which is nice. Pastries are not too expensive. Definitely recommend the $1 sugar cookies. The pastries are usually seasonal, but they have some good challah bread and apple pies. I also like their chocolate mousse. This place is truly a gem, and I hope to come here again.

Firehook is a small bakery with a good selection on Q st in Dupont. We stopped by to grab some dessert while we continued our walk. Firehook had 2-3 workers handling the bakery so service was good with getting help. They have small area to eat inside but I would say it's best to eat outside at the tables or grab & go. I decided on the apple pound cake. It had apple & raisins mixed with the batter. The cake was soft & fresh, but I'm glad it was lightly sweetened. It wasn't very sweet but had more natural flavors instead. I would go back to try more dessert while in the area.

The high school friend goes to Washington DC one day. She goes to the cafe in Dupont Circle and asks for a "spinach and feta" pastry..hahaha Here's to my favorite Greek family..thank you for the feta cheese.

Stopped in for a quick coffee and pastry on our walk recently and was super disappointed with both. 2 iced vanilla oat lattes that could have passed for motor oil or battery acid. So bad that we only took one sip each and tossed them out. Both cookies were dry and stale. I dont usually leave reviews for cafes because I work at one and I know that coffee and pastries can be very finicky and taste is subjective, but I was absolutely horrified when I saw the pickup counter and espresso machine. The steam wands were completely caked with dry milk, the sanitizer rags were disgusting, the pitchers/shot glasses/utensils looked like they hadn’t been rinsed all day. I also got to watch the barista pour the shots into my latte and there had to be at least 6oz of liquid in the cup she poured from, mostly water. She also used a short spoon to stir my drink and I watched as her fingers dunked into the top multiple times. As a fellow barista, I’m begging this place to do better before they get someone sick!

They make this chocolate espresso cookie here that is practically the size of a dinner plate. It had a crunchy exterior and a chewy interior. The addition of walnuts makes it absolutely perfect. Highly recommend.

Cute place to grab a latte and a pastry. I tried the gingerbread latte and a spinach and feta croissant. I really liked them both. The latte was super big and sweet. Felt very cozy! The croissant was pretty cheap for DC prices and next time I want to try one of their cookies : they look massive! It's also in a very busy area so it's a good stop if you're on the way to a farmers market, book store or just trying to get a pick me up before heading on the metro.

Only place in DC you can get a homemade baked good for less than $10. Thank you for making good food affordable!

Firehook is such a gem! The workers are kind, energetic, and very efficient. Their selection of food is huge, from cakes, tarts, and sweet treats, to savory bites. Everything is also well priced — why go to the Panera down the street when there is this lovely local bakery with delicious homemade pastries for the same price? I ordered a quiche of the day (it had chicken) and asked for a scone she recommended, which I believe was a cherry one. Additionally I got a small chai latte— which is probably the best chai latte I’ve had, so highly recommend! The quiche was delicious and warm, and I’ve been nibbling on the scone all day. A good sweet date spot right next to the Dupont metro station — bring your friends!
