Did not live up to its rating. Food was good by nothing special. Service was decent and the cocktails were nice but the food was average at best.

Food was good, price reasonable, and service from our waiter Jose *outstanding*! Jose was efficient despite the completely full tables and his extraordinary high workload. Also, always a smile !

Man, seeing all the positive reviews and looking at the expansive, delicious looking menu, I was really excited to try this place. But I couldn’t have been more disappointed. This was a very average to poor meal. We had a reservation, and had to wait a couple of minutes for a table, no problem. But we sat for several minutes before anyone came and checked on us. I asked for a Sprite and got a ‘lemon-line soda’ from the bar. It was poorly made lemonade. First disappointment. Started with cornbread skillet and fried green tomatoes from the appetizer menu. Both were very average. For my main I got the fried chicken. When it came out I was VERY confused. It looked like no chicken I have ever had. Either that or it was from the skinniest, tiniest chicken ever. They were the saddest little pieces I have seen with no discernment of what the pieces were. White or dark meat? No one could tell. So odd. My friends said it looked like fried pigeon instead of chicken. Plus, it was so dry. I would have rather had KFC. I’m pretty sure the biscuit that came with was used in the Capitols game last night. Hard as a rock and inedible. I WILL SAY… the greens were excellent. I could have just eaten a bowl of those and been happy. But the rest? Any fast food chicken place is 3x as good as what this meal was. Overall, disappointing.

Outstanding!!! drinks, food and service by Jorge. I wasn't going to have a cocktail but realized they had their own distillery... it would have been a waste to have a mocktail! Truly unique menu and fresh ingredients made this uniquely special lunch! We had fried chicken and macncheese, farrow butternut squash cauliflower salad. Beignets with dipping sauces were exquisite. Jorge was amazing! Bravo FF! Can't wait to come back!

This has been our 7th visit to Founding Fathers, 1924 Pennsylvania Ave, D.C. & our experience has been nothing short of satisfaction! This establishment soars in every area: wait time, customer service, food, drinks, music, lighting. I would like to highlight Byron’s phenomenal professionalism & attentiveness! For me personally, a professional like Bryon is what keeps me returning to this exact location! - Mazzy

We made 7:00 PM reservations for Thanksgiving dinner at Founding Farmers (Foggy Bottom), but it was immediately obvious the restaurant was overbooked or completely unprepared for the volume of reservations they accepted. When we arrived, we were told the wait would be one hour. After returning an hour later, we were informed it would be another 30 minutes. The lobby was packed with at least 75 to 100 people, all waiting to be seated. We were finally seated at 8:30 PM, which was an hour and a half past our reservation time. It took another 15 minutes just to have a waiter greet us. When we went to order dessert, several of the options listed on their pre-fix Thanksgiving menu were already unavailable. We asked to have the desserts to go, and had to wait a while after we finished eating for them to be brought out. We nearly left so we would not have to keep waiting for them. The food itself was okay, not bad, but absolutely not worth the extended wait and overall chaos. After finishing our first two courses, we waited an unusually long time just to receive the bill. The ambiance was casual but pleasant, but that is about the only positive. I would not recommend this restaurant for a holiday or any special occasion. What should have been a festive, stress free Thanksgiving with family ended up feeling frustrating and poorly managed. This experience really put a damper on the day.

We had a 1 pm reservation and were seated at 1:30. The soup tasted more like a dessert it was soooo sweet!(butternut squash). The turkey was dry and the stuffing tasted like it was made out of a box; you could taste the stale bread! The only good things were the salad, homemade bread and nice waitress.

Well, I would like to provide a review of our experience. We made a reservation a month ahead of time for dinner on Thanksgiving price fix meal. We showed up at 6:30, our appointed time. “We are running about 30 minutes late.” Fortunately our hotel restaurant had an opening. We cancelled. Nevertheless, at 8:00pm we got a text, “your table is ready.” 90 minutes!! We were just finishing our meal.

I like this place all the time, but especially at Thanksgiving. Incredible biscuits and cornbread year round. At Tgiving, heaping plates of traditional sides plus your choice of fish, ribeye, southern fried chicken, or ham. Lots of pie choices too. Fantastic price point for a huge meal, I believe around $45 per person. My family's fairly new tradition. Big thanks to our cheerful server Meara. She and the whole staff know how to stay efficient and pleasant during busy days.

Dinner, food poor (chicken pot pie without much chicken, and meatloaf), service below average. Cold restaurant even greeter was wearing a coat!

Founding Farmers is a great place for a group lunch. We sat inside in the back. Our server Byron was fast, courteous and very knowledgeable!
