I stopped off for coffee a few days ago before visiting the art gallery downstairs and liked it so much, I went back for lunch a couple of days later. I had Chicken and Waffles ($22) on the all-day brunch menu. Good food, great service, bright setting with lots of natural light, and conveniently located near the Phillips and Metro.

Our server, Pablo, was friendly and helpful. Meal was well prepared, delicious and served hot.
A quick meal after we'd been travelling all day but what we ordered (spring rolls for me and spaghetti bolognaise for my husband) was freshly cooked and very tasty.
I stayed at the Ven recently and ordered a drink from the restaurant to be delivered to my room. They called to let me know they were out of what I ordered but that the bartender would make me something. I said I liked berry flavors and rum/vodka. Whatever Jorge made was absolutely delicious!

It was empty, and that should have been my first clue. I ordered a beer, grilled cheese and tomato bisque. The service was outstanding and the food was ok. Unfortunately, I was sick all night and unable to attend the show I came to town to see the next day.
Glad to dine in our hotel. Good window view. We would have enjoyed the dining outside as well. Nice patio available that a few folks took advantage of indeed. Anyway, Jose server attentive. Food was unique with flavors and dishes all around the world. My dish was SEABASS. I did not finish it but it was OK. I did not care for all the peppers loaded on top. Anyway, the lady enjoyed her meal. We were full so we saved it for later. Fancy drinks too.
Fred & Stilla served wonderful cocktails and dishes. Presentation was elegant. The service was friendly and attentive.
Great experience. Jose (server) was great. Good cocktails. Gluten Free foods marked on menu. Food was good. Oddly very quiet. Hotel restaurant. Surprised it was so empty.
Monica provided outstanding service during our visit to Fred and Stilla. She was kind, helpful, and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without feeling rushed. The food was delicious, and her recommendations were spot on. Her warm attitude and attention to detail made our experience even better. If you're dining here, ask for Monica—she's fantastic!
Oh, this is the bar at the Ven. The french fries for 6 hours and 50 cents are pretty good. They don't have a great beer selection and the bar is a little pricey. They do serve food including breakfast. They put free coffee on the side of the bar but it's really bad coffee. Check out the tea house just past the bar, valley Brook.

The restaurant bills itself as a really nice downtown DC restaurant with a snazzy website. We had a business dinner booked there, but no one told us there would be a DJ with EDM beats pumping through the entire restaurant that evening. Truly awful. The food was fine, it was as expected. The service was rough; our server disappeared when our group was trying to pay the check and escape it all. Also, I tried really hard to figure out their phone number. I even sent them an email to ask so I could call and confirm, but it's actually impossible to find it. When you call the number on their OpenTable confirmation email, it goes to a Marriott and the people there have never heard of the restaurant. I still don't know what their phone number is, even after asking in an email. My organization will not be returning and I don't recommend for a professional or fancy or date night dinner. Might be good for going out or partying on a weekend night?
Tried Fred and Stilla as part of Restaurant Week. Although it is in a hotel, the menu seemed to be innovative. Well, it's a hotel restaurant. Muted flavors, mushy vegetables. The space is attractive and tables are adequately spaced to allow conversation. Service was pleasant and prompt. Fine if you're staying at the hotel, but not a “destination” restaurant.
The food here is excellent. Many different cultures represented on their menu. We stayed at the hotel and ate their in the evenings. The root salad and perogies were our favorite appetizers. But you cannot go wrong with any of the dishes. I recommend this restaurant to be a must visit when In Washington DC. You will not be disappointed.

Stopped by here for lunch and waited 20 minutes before walking to the back and finding someone to serve us. The place was completely empty. Drinks were never refilled and once the food came, no one came by to check on things. The food was good but I won't return if you like good service.

Korean fried chicken and perogie appetizers were delicious. Everyone tried something different for entrees and we all enjoyed our meals and exclaimed how good everyone else's dishes looked. The crème brûlée apple cheesecake was great and the red wine I had was a heavy pour. Not crowded on a Thursday night and our server was really nice. One of the nicest, chillest meals I've had in a while. Bravo!
