I stopped off for coffee a few days ago before visiting the art gallery downstairs and liked it so much, I went back for lunch a couple of days later. I had Chicken and Waffles ($22) on the all-day brunch menu. Good food, great service, bright setting with lots of natural light, and conveniently located near the Phillips and Metro.
I stayed at the Ven recently and ordered a drink from the restaurant to be delivered to my room. They called to let me know they were out of what I ordered but that the bartender would make me something. I said I liked berry flavors and rum/vodka. Whatever Jorge made was absolutely delicious!
It was empty, and that should have been my first clue. I ordered a beer, grilled cheese and tomato bisque. The service was outstanding and the food was ok. Unfortunately, I was sick all night and unable to attend the show I came to town to see the next day.
