From 2010 to 2014, I was a regular. I even worked the evenings/nights at a nearby client site back then; I was damn-near always there on my downtime. I even brought best friends & old flames here. One time I had a bad flu but couldn't call off so I just ate the Pho and drank their tea (and some whiskey) to keep going. I especially love their wings though. When I left the area at 24, I wound up in Hampton Roads, eventually Indiana (big mistake) the following decade. Long story short, I got set up/locked up like four years ago ecause the ex-wife was mad I was leaving and while I was stuck in that cell block...the one thing I absolutely missed was Froggy Bottom's honey mustard sriracha wings (obviously even when you even have the commissary money, the buffalo wings from the kitchen aren't special). Anyway I persevered and finally got to visit the area again before they closed for the holidays yesterday. Those wings are still as amazing as they were a decade ago. Those of us regulars know the mom & pop who run this place. I told 'mom' my story as I ordered and I'm grateful I was able to make their day with it nonetheless. I live in Michigan now but I swear it won't take another decade to come back here. No one on this side of America does what they do to those wings; they're the best I've ever had.

The owners story alone should earn this place a visit. Once you try it, the food and atmosphere will bring you back. Most of the menu is traditional pub fare but the ingredients were very fresh and the pizza we tried was excellent. Great crust and not greasy. Don't pass on the Vietnamese choices mixed into the menu. Absolutely worth a try!

I’ve come here many times. This time however, I was trying to make sure I described the wings I normally get because I have not been there in so long. Regular fried. No sauce. When I received my pho I asked there was barely any meat in it. Then my wings that were fried were practically burnt!

My father taught me, you are paying for the food so make sure it’s what you want. When I tried to ask the owner if there was a way I can order more meat for my pho on the side since there wasn’t a lot, she took my wings and pho and trashed it in front of the whole bar. This owner had a meltdown in public which was extremely unprofessional and startling.

I tried to tell her calmly despite her tantrum that I was trying to order extra meat for my pho! This woman completely flipped out. What’s worse is that she got even more unprofessional and started discussing it with the two strangers next to me!!

I am so proud that the man who was sitting next to me witnessed the whole thing! Half the bar did! He apologized to me and told me that he planned on ordering dinner there but chose to leave after his beer after what he witnessed. Little does the owner know that the two men to my left apologized to me when she walked away and said that’s the most unprofessional display they had seen and that they will not be coming back either!

I don’t know if she was trying to purposely embarrass me but she had anger issues and as an owner, you don’t treat customers that way. I even tried to discuss with her away from the bar and do the right thing and she was still rude! I don’t know what her discriminatory behavior and attitude was towards me but it made me feel good to have the support of the bar.

She tried to tell me that I was unhappy. How do you tell a customer how THEY feel. Her listening skills were horrible. I was trying to ask about the way my wings would be fried. She said I had issues since I came in with the food. Mam, so a patron can’t ask questions about food THEY are buying??? That’s an issue???? Then when I try to order a side of extra meat for my pho you throw it all away???! I was hungry. That is not the first time I’ve eaten pho there. You say it’s weighed. I wanted extra. No you threw the whole order away in a very public unprofessional angry problematic way.

You have no idea the way you reacted and the impact it had around other customers. One to my right decided to leave. If it wasn’t for the gracious host calming me down, and handling it extremely professional and privately, I would have lowered myself to the behavior of the owner.

Do not go to this place. I wish there was another management to talk too. When that is the owner it’s a horrible sign. This was during evening busy hours. Worst time to go. If you have a question with this woman, it’s problematic. She gets angry. I’ve been here many times but this experience did it for me. I will be letting my friends in the area know to stay away from this place. Extremely uncomfortable and problematic owner. The best service is the bartenders all though their staff is always changing.

I will also be helping one of the hostesses find another restaurant to work. My friend is an owner at this particular establishment. A bit on the high end side but she will be paid much better. This hostess as well as the other patrons really helped me feel better after the behavior of this owner. I don’t know if it’s dinner time rush or old age but she was horrible.

It was one of those early weekday evenings where the city seemed to have slowed down, and my daughter and I found ourselves wandering through downtown DC, looking for a cozy spot to grab a bite. We stumbled upon this little gem, tucked away but inviting with its warm glow and outdoor seating. We were seated promptly, choosing a small table near the front window, where we could still feel the city’s pulse but enjoy the calm.

We decided to start with a couple of appetizers. The veggie rolls came out first, crispy and fresh, with a light dipping sauce that added the perfect tang. Then came the wild chili poppers, and let me tell you, they were golden and perfectly crunchy on the outside. But the cheese inside—oozing and molten hot—took us by surprise! There was that split second where you savor the taste, and then bam! Heat, but so worth it.

As for the mains, my daughter went for the Banh Mi, while I chose the Reuben sandwich. Her sandwich arrived stacked with fresh veggies and tender meat, all packed into a soft yet crunchy baguette. She loved every bite. Meanwhile, my Reuben was exactly what I needed—classic, hearty, with the corned beef practically melting in my mouth. We shared a few bites, exchanging smiles over how good everything was.

Alex, our server, was a delight from start to finish. We were indecisive at first, but he was so patient, offering suggestions and making sure we had everything we needed. It felt like we were regulars, even though it was our first visit.

The vibe was just right—not too crowded, with a relaxed ambiance that made it easy to settle in and enjoy our meal. It was around evening, and being a weekday, it wasn’t bustling, just a few other tables filled with folks quietly chatting or enjoying their meals.

As we left, satisfied and already planning our next visit, I couldn’t help but think how perfect it was for a casual evening out in the city. It’s definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re in DC and looking for good food, great service, and a comfortable vibe.

Later that night, after such a satisfying meal, I wanted to keep that relaxed feeling going. At home, I reached for my favorite from PullUpDC—Super Lemon Haze. It’s the perfect way to wind down after a great night out, with just the right buzz to match the mellow mood. If you haven't tried their strains, you're missing out—they always come through with the best for a chilled night in!

Froggy Bottom Pub is a hidden gem in DC! The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for casual dining or meeting up with friends. The food is delicious and surprisingly diverse for a pub, offering everything from classic American pub fare to Asian-inspired dishes. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a great experience from start to finish. I highly recommend trying their wings and the Froggy burger – both are excellent! Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or staying for drinks, this place never disappoints.

The owners were in the pub and were so kind. The service was great. My bowl was amazing!! Would recommend at least one stop if not more if you are in the area.

Not quite a pub feel, but the good was great and the staff was super chill and friendly. The owner hung out with us for a bit too! Food selection is all over the place, but was very happy with my Cobb salad and my buddy really enjoyed the pho. Definitely not the average food for a pub...a notch better. The only bad is drinks were pricey and not great, and not quite a pub feel. Still would come back.

I normally do not take the time to leave reviews, however, my visit to Froggy Bottom Pub was fantastic, the food was tasty, hot and fresh. The service was beyond spectacular. Our waiter, John was knowledgeable, friendly and fun. He was very attentive and kept the refills coming. We came in during the dinner rush with a party of 20+ and he managed to remember what everyone was drinking, despite having a full dining room. We will be sure to come back during the nights he is working!

Yeah, definitely don't come here. Was excited to see that they had pho late in the night, but it was bland and the wait service was awful. The atmosphere was loud and obnoxious and we could have gone anywhere else and had a better time.
