THE BEST. If you're looking for a liquor store in DC (or to drive in), look no further. Really. Rarely do I have an experience where I review, tweet, and post on social media about how outstanding it is. I was looking for a bottle of bourbon and wanted to try something different. I perused the shelves for a bit until the owner asked if I needed help. I explained my brand of choice and others I like and asked if there was anything similar he would recommend. He asked I wanted to taste one and told me a little about the distillery. It's actually a local one that I had heard of and he told me about his interaction with them. It was good, love supporting local #madeindc and supporting women-owned and operated businesses, decided to buy a bottle. Other customers came and went with him offering recommendations to them while I finished my "taste (more like a pour). We talked about other spirits and alcoholic beverages I like and he took note of ones I mentioned that he didn't carry to ask his distributors. Another bottle caught my eye and he offered me a taste. I don't know if it was the bourbon hitting but this tasted like the smoothest rum I've ever had. I asked the price of the bottle and he said he needed to order more but to take the tasting bottle as a gift. What?!?! For free. I left after thanking him a few times and before he could change his mind. The shop isn't huge but has a broad selection and I really believe if there is something you are looking for, he will look at how to procure it. They carry all spirits, cold alcoholic seltzers, cold beer and champagne, and wines. Also make sure to have a good variety of local spirits. And they carry organic wines and can easily point you to them. I'm only angry at myself for not coming here sooner. Thank you Gallagher & Graham and Surender for a great first experience!

Great store. In fact I really like a good Fine Spirits store or better said liquor store. Fine Spirits does sound more classy though. This store is located on 12th just off you right across the street from BEN'S CHILI BOWL. What better is there to do after having an amazing meal at Ben's than to check out a liquor store. In we went bellies full. It's a very nice set up. The interior is inviting. What's not inviting when you walk in and see fine spirits from the floor to the ceiling right? So, this store is in Washington DC and I love in Northern Virginia. In Washington liquor store are independent. In Virginia all liquor stores are run by the State if Virginia. Let me tell you Virginia does a great job with their liquor stores. So I had to check out my favorites that I buy in the Virginia stores all the time. Here is my list: Jonnie walker Blue and Black Labels. Balvenie Highland Park Rebel Yell Pappy Van Winkle El Dorado Rum Appleton Estate Rum Patron Tequila Kilian Vodka So I had to compare prices. The prices are cheaper in Washington DC. Mmmmmm so I live 10 minutes from Washington DC. Should I go there and load up my trunk? The Virginia Alcohol and Beverage Control that runs the state liquor stores carry guns and can arrest you and lock you up. If you transport over a certain amount from Washington DC or Maryland into Virginia you can get arrested. How about that. How will they know though? Will they follow me from a liquor in Dc to my home and jump out with machine guns? I'm close enough to DC I can run in there get the legal amount and come home. For real though this is a great liquor store, we met the owner and he is super nice and the prices are great and it's close to Ben's Chili Bowl. Great.
