my partner and I got takeout from this place and we tried the chicken, steak, shrimp, and portobello mushroom tacos. The chicken was a tad dry for my taste but otherwise everything was delicious. The flavor profile of each taco is unique and equally delicious. My favorite was the shrimp which not only was flavored extraordinarily but was paired with the perfect sauce and additional toppings. My partners favorite was the portobello mushrooms staying that they were flavorful and very well cooked and unique for a taco option. I would definitely recommend this place for your next stay in DC or for those who live in the area

Food was so good. So good. The servers were diligent and awesome. The restaurant is totally cute. All of those plants, neon lights and pictures. Screams a taco joint. Chicken quesadillas was one of the best. Their tacos were heavenly too. We'll be returning!

Incredible carnitas and carne asada tacos! The other tacos are good but not quite as good as the two listed.

This was my first time being at this restaurant. I absolutely love tacos so when I heard “ Taco City” I immediately knew this was a place I was gonna try. As I walked in I was greeted given water, and salsa and chips ( which were actually good). I ordered 3 tacos ( Barbacoa, Carne Asada, And Tinga De Pollo) and I ordered them how they came…. Sadly to say they really didn’t meet my expectations of restaurant style tacos, more like street tacos. My taco shells were greasy and falling apart. My Barbacoa taco meat was a little chewy and my Carne Asada was also a bit chewy. Although I enjoyed the music and ambience of the restaurant the food wasn’t up to par. Will I come back, maybe one day, I will definitely have to think about it tho.

Unique little spot in DC. The staff was very kind. Tacos were great, very flavorful. Price was reasonable for the location

The staff was so nice and attentive- service was exceptional and very quick. I would definitely return, the tacos were amazing and same with the torta. Some of the best Mexican food I've had on the East Coast.

The food and drinks are delicious and the service is always great even when busy. They took amazing care of a family member with a severe gluten allergy, carefully reviewing the menu with them and steering them away from the foods they could not eat. We love coming here, and are so glad they’re part of the neighborhood.
My friends and I stopped at Taco City before an event we were attending at the Capital Turnaround. The food was amazing, drinks were strong and it all came out really fast. We were able to eat and grab drinks in less than 20 minutes, which was perfect because our event was starting soon. The staff was nice and accommodating. I definitely plan on going back.
The staff were nice but the food was the worst in DC! Go next door is cheaper, bigger portions and taste better.

Nice taco place in Navy Yard with good tacos. I am a bit of a taco snob so I tend to be a little more of a critic than normal. I had the three taco lunch special with a side of guacamole. I tried the beef, chicken & Mexican cactus. I appreciated the chips & homemade salsa made with grilled tomatoes, tomatillo & green peppers; a really authentic & smokey finish & at no extra cost…hard to find these days. The service was friendly and a good neighborhood option. I’ll be back.mushroom quesadilla was awesome!

We visited DC for four nights. We ate here twice because it was so good. The happy hour specials were delicious and good deals. The salsa is transcendent. Loved the mojito and the sangria. The carnitas, the tinga de pollo and the esquites were AMAZING! The whole staff is awesome and the atmosphere is so cool.

The tacos were delicious and great variety, they make the tortillas onsite. The service was friendly and very attentive. I will be going back again!
