To be Frank, not Hank, this place had a 5 star rating, until I got back to my room and saw the 5% “service charge”. Food was good, server was good, atmosphere on the patio was great. Management should be ashamed of themselves. You charge a fee, for services, that’s what the price on the menu is. Period. Agree or disagree with tipping culture in the US is a totally different conversation. I tipped well on this bill, but this little add on after the fact leaves a dirty taste in my mouth. If management wants to charge 5% more, then increase the menu items by 5%. Don’t be sneaky about it - that’s unprofessional, immoral, and truly rude. If I told a customer of mine a price and then later said “oh actually, it’s going to be more to pay for my employees”, they would not only be confused because I already told them a price, but I wouldn’t have any customers any more. To management: respond however you want, you’re wrong and you know it. Do better, your employees deserve better and so do your patrons. Congrats on making a few extra dollars for yourself. I had bookmarked this place on my map, but now I won’t come back if this fee stays.

EDIT (before the establishment responds): sure, you put this on the very bottom of your menu to save yourselves from a legal standpoint. That almost makes it worse, you planned this ahead of time. If you can’t pay your employees based on the menu price, then you raise the menu price, otherwise, you close up shop because you shouldn’t be running a business.

I was looking for some seafood on the wharf, & this place nailed it. I was alone in town, & working a convention, so I really enjoyed the vibe in this section of town. Hank's seemed to call out my name as I wandered past in search of dinner. I sat at the bar, & was greeted by a very nice bartender named Bethany. She was quick, professional, & thorough. I wanted to try several different items on the menu, so I relied on her advice as I ordered. This created the need for her to jump back & forth between the other patrons & I, but she handled the extra attention with ease. Her timing was perfect.
Now, on to the food. Most of what I ordered was done on her advice. I started off with an Athletic Brewing Run Wild (NA) IPA, ($8). It was clean, hoppy & delicious, the perfect match for the fare to come. The fried oysters, ($17) arrived first. Crispy, hot & juicy, these morsels of goodness disappeared quickly. I dipped them in the tartar sauce provided, & added a bit of tabasco to kick up the heat a bit. Next to arrive were the steamed PEI mussels, ($21), served in a flavorful slightly tangy broth with bits of veggies, & tomatoes, accompanied by 3 slightly charred baguette slices for dipping, this dish was wonderful. I was really on a roll by now, & Bethany was on top of things as the bar filled up with hungry customers. The crab cake, ($19), was ordered & arrived just as the mussels were cleared away, keeping the flow of the meal on pace with my appetite. This little 2-3 oz cake was superb, full of tender lump crabmeat, with just enough binder to add the right touch of balance & flavor. I loved it! I needed to slow down at this point so I got the cold peel & eat shrimp, ($17), & enjoyed these as I watched the football game on the big screen above, & chatted a little bit with my neighbors. I finished things off with the clam chowder, ($12). It was one of the best I'v ever tasted, & I've tasted quite a few bowls of clam chowder in my 66 years on earth. It was a bit herbaceous, creamy, & the clams were very tender. I don't know how they pulled that off, but they weren't the least bit chewy or rubbery. I powered the bowl down, & settled up on the check, leaving Bethany a healthy gratuity. I give Hanks my highest recommendation. It was certainly worth the $100 I paid for the meal.

We tried their famous oysters and they were absolutely amazing—fresh and flavorful. The rest of the food was great and service was attentive. Only downside was the place didn’t feel quite as clean as I hoped.

Oh my...this place....mmmm.... let me find the words to try and explain what an experience that was...
So we are walking the wharf and trying to figure out where to eat... the wifey wants some seafood spot...and then there was Hank's.
From the guys are the door meeting you and leading you to your table, to the servers (Gustavo) and everyone in-between, man oh man...incredible service, attitude, professionalism, and all that... just amazzzzzzzing...
Then.....the big boss....ERIN...oh my heavenly Gods. She was just this out of this world person who happened to be managing this place...wow just wow...we got to talk and I told her about our little weekend escapade and she went all out on the hospitality mode...man if only the world had a few more ERINs....we would all be happy people.
We would like to thank her for her graciousness, absolutely perfect attitude, professionalism, and all the words that am missing to try to express what we are feeling now!
Ultimately, I just want to say....stop by... you will never be dissapointed..and yes...ask for ERIN if you want to have the experience of your night....hmmmm.... or your lifetime...:):):)

Hank’s is the perfect lunch spot! The fried oysters, Hank’s double patty cheeseburger, and fish & chips were all incredible — fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The waterfront views made it even better.
Branden C. gave outstanding service, super attentive and welcoming. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

The food was good, but I won’t be back. This restaurant adds a 20% gratuity plus another 5% fee in fine print. Tipping has always been a kind of social hack to avoid raising menu prices, but now it feels like there’s a new hack on top of the old one…a mandatory 25% charge dressed up as fairness to workers.

If the goal is to pay staff properly, just raise prices and be transparent. Customers will respect honest pricing, and workers will be paid fairly without relying on layers of hidden fees. I didn’t price shop before I came here btw.

We had an amazing experience here. Their salty Wolfe oysters are insane and worth the price of admission. Attentive, speedy service. Obviously beautiful views at the wharf. Kid friendly as well!

Food decent - good seafood pasta, seafood platter extremely underwhelming (cold and rubbery). Waitress rude (no manners), practically demanded a tip. Overpriced as well.

Waiter wore too much cologne. Ordered a shrimp po boy. Got some shrimp in a hotdog roll. Very expensive.

The waiter ruined it for us: too much cologne, arrogant and obnoxious.
The oysters were very good. The po boy was just a shrimp roll. Fried shrimp on a hot dog roll.
The other meal was a fried fish sandwich and it was just ok.

Very expensive - over $200 for two people, it does include cocktails .

He never gave us a receipt which we thought was odd.
