It's a very unique place, with a country style, and the space is very spacious.
The food is delicious; the ribs are highly recommended, and the portions are generous.
It has a side bar, and the mac and cheese is delicious.

Ordered the pitmaster with cornbread and beans and they have the best ribs and best beans I have ever tasted. Their complimentary pickles were so good we kept asking for more.
Service was excellent. Would recommend to friends/family visiting DC.

Nice place but pricey for BBQ - even in downtown DC.

We waited at the front for a long time before the bartender huffed his way over to seat us after making eye contact with the waitresses several times. The concept is definitely interesting. Food is not worth the price in my opinion. Maybe for karaoke night when I’m drunk it would be better.

Service was non-existent. We were told when we walked in that our server would help us with our drinks, but we didn't even see a server until we were nearly done eating. (It's market style, so you pick up your own food at a counter.) The food was fine, which is the only reason I'm not leaving 1 star. I always tip well, and this was the only time I've ever not tipped.

The food here was so delicious. We definitely left with happy bellies. Only dropped a star because the place was so loud we could barely hear people at our table talk ( even though it was 8:30pm on a weeknight ), and because the staff seemed unengaged and were difficult to flag down.

Racially profiled by bartender and asked to leave.
Was at the venue for the Band Karaoke. Was having a good time until the band skipped my turn and asked me to wait to give others a chance, since I had already sang once. Was a fair ask, so I decided to get a drink at last call.
I was standing next to two white men getting their drink and closing out. A group of white girls were standing on the other side of the bar and the bartender asked them to come to the the side l was at, and started taking their drink orders. Other white guys and white women came and got service while I was still waiting. When I tried to get the bartender's attention, she walked out to get the bouncer and had me escorted out without letting me close my tab.
Zero respect for people waiting, and top preference for being white. Do not go here if you're not white. A shame for a place claiming to be women owned and LGBT friendly.

I went here with friends and I am convinced this is the best BBQ I've had. I had the moist brisket and hot sausage with mac & cheese and baked beans with burnt ends. It came with jalapeńo cornbread and and honey pepper butter. Everything was made in-house. The brisket was so good it melted in my mouth and it paired well with their BBQ sauce. The sausage had a mild heat but was tasty. It suprisingly paired well with their hogwash sauce (a vinegar dipping sauce). The mac & cheese was cheesy, gooey and oh so good! The baked beans were good as well complimented by the burnt ends. The unlimited homemade lemonade was a nice thirst quencher. For the money, you get a nice and filling meal and I will be back for more if I get a BBQ fix!

I made a reservation for my entire family this past Saturday night for 6:30pm. I called the hostess to move the reservation back to 7:00pm she did so but warned me we needed to hurry because the line dancing was going to start that night. I simply asked okay what time does line dance start and her response was “it’s not about what time it starts it’s about what time they decide to move the tables”. In the moment I just wanted to get to the place on time because I feared we wouldn’t have had enough time to sit and enjoy a meal but I thought her response was rude and vague. When we got there the food service was great - we were 9 people so it’s not easy that everyone is pleased but truly everyone was. The food was good and the people serving the food were nice and incredibly efficient. We were there about 2 hours before they started to setup to line dance (plenty of time and no need for the hostess to make me feel like we wouldn’t have had enough time) when we got up and went to the other side of the bar. We weren’t sure if we wanted to participate but since my family was visiting for the first time from Italy they were very curious and wanted to see what line dancing actually was. We went to the other side of the bar with our drinks chatting and watching while everyone set up. It was about 9:30 when we wanted to get one last drink and go home - I asked the bartender on our side if we could get another drink he said you have to go to the other side of the bar but usually you have to pay to line dance but he said as long as it’s one last drink go ahead. We went over and got served by a female bartender she took our orders then came back to us with a receipt in hand and said we couldn’t be on that side of the bar without paying to line dance. I explained to her that we were on the other side just watching this was the last drink and we weren’t planning on joining. She continued on that we couldn’t be there and we had to pay and I persisted that we were leaving and the other gentlemen said we could grab one last drink. We paid for our drinks went back to the other side finished them within 10 minutes because we felt so unwelcome. I understand every establishment has rules and guidelines to keep people in line but the way they delivered the message was rude and inhospitable. Between all 9 of us we spent well over $300 if not more. I liked the food and the food service but will not be returning. I don’t need to go out to eat at a place where I’m not welcomed.

The best events are the line dancing rodeos on Friday and Saturday nights. Wed night live band karaoke also draws a good crowd. The energy of crowd, on par with Austin , Dallas Nashville. Food is excellent bbq but pricier side for fast casual.
