Fantastic wings. Sides are a little geriatric. Had the Oxtail. The rice didn't stand up to the Oxtail. Ate them by themselves. Sent the cabbage back

I had the pleasure of dining at The Hitching Post DC. I ordered the grilled lamb chops, mac & cheese, collard greens. The lamb chops are in my top 2 of the best I've ever tasted. I don't normally order mac & cheese when I go out to a restaurant, but this order was perfect as well. The collard greens could use a little vinegar, however, they were still delicious. I will definitely dine there in the near future. The lemon cake had was flavorful, moist and delicious, too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My family went there today for a birthday party, the atmosphere was relaxed and cozy.

Please keep in mind most the reviews that give this place an overall high rating are from the previous owner that was here for years. Its God awful under new owner and management. Service is beyond atrocious and the food is disgusting. The owner needs to reevaluate his standards, or establish any standards to begin with. All around terrible and would give negative stars if I could.

Only giving two stars because of the amount of food. But it was just not good and I’m sorry because I really wanted it to be.
Chicken was bland, but fried very well. Mac & cheese was nothing but noodles and a cheese sauce, greens were decent. Hugely disappointed. Great amount of food, I expected party Wings, but they were whole wings

This place serves up some delicious comfort food. The hand-cut French fries and fried pickles were particularly tasty, and everything else we ordered was equally satisfying.

We had been at an event at the Lincoln cottage across the street and had been told to try the Hitching Post. It was wonderful. Milano, the manager, is gracious, friendly, and very attentive, as was our waitress, Aleksia. Be ready for a cholesterol spike, but the food is great—fried chicken, fried pickles, fried shrimp, and our absolute favorite, crispy spinach! And my wife reminds me the wine pours are generous. Amazing.

My review is strictly on the wing dinner that I ordered today. I hate to do this but it did not meet my expectations at all. The chicken had a lot of feathers still in it. Even a big white piece...
The chicken had a good fried batter but there was no flavor. The mac and cheese has no flavor ughhh and it's lacking cheese SMH.
I'm not from the area so I ordered here strictly on some other reviews I saw. I just hate spending my money on food that does not meet my expectations. I will say that atmosphere looked very cute and quaint.
