I’ve seen Honeymoon Chicken quite a few times, when I’m at Petwork Cigars which is right next door. Finally had an opportunity to try the food. It did not disappoint. I had the chicken tenders and the seafood platter. The honey rolls were amazing and the comeback sauce is appropriately named. Well done Honeymoon Chicken! See you again soon!

Winner winner, was this chicken dinner. This has got to be the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Normally, I’m not a fan of wedge fries, but these were phantasmic. Also, I recommend the Drumstick, the hot honey sandwich, the rolls and their salads. Service was fast, place was rockin too. Our server Rosie was sweet as the honey. We’ll be back. Maybe tomorrow.

The BEST fried chicken in the DMV. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. We also got their buffalo chicken tenders and they were so flavorful. Brussel sprouts were a great side. For drinks, I highly recommend the strawberry pineapple lemonade. Not much of a matcha drinker but I was surprised by the matcha lemonade. It was really tasty and refreshing.

If I could give zero stars I would, but I have to give a one. When I walked in the atmosphere was very hostile. We were not greeted, welcomed, and we even had to seat ourselves. When we sat down the server had a very dismissive attitude and didn’t even ask us how we were doing or introduced herself. My party then ordered water and our food, and were told to pay before we got our food while other customers were allowed to pay after. While everyone had their food, they forgot my friends macaroni and cheese. When made aware of this matter, the server then came by with the mac and cheese but instead of setting the hot bowl on the table, she hovered it over my friends head, leaving my friend to have to grab it herself. The food was very appetizing but when we were finished, the server, and I don’t know who pissed in her cereal, but she snatched the fry bowl out of my hand like I had stole it. When we were leaving we didn’t even get a “have a nice rest of your day” from any employees.
Went to their establishment on 11/18/25 (yesterday). The first order of the 8-piece hot honey chicken we ordered out of excitement was served to us as old lukewarm chicken. Mind you the price of this entree is over $30, so we sent it back and asked for fresh chicken.
The establishment agreed and made us a new batch that took about 5 additional minutes. I had my skepticism on the prompt delivery. It was steaming hot so, I bit into the chicken which are the uploaded photos I have provided and the chicken was now undercooked. I confronted the managers and they tried to make me pay full price with a 25% coupon and tried to insist that I pay for undercooked chicken as the GM mentioned that their fryer had been having some issues insinuating it's not their fault so I needed to pay. After an additional 30 minutes of back-forth, we finally came to a resolution which I ended up not having to pay for the undercooked chicken but I had to pay for the sides, which I didn't mind. I just wanted to leave.
The next day (today), I have a strong case of diarrhea and nausea from what I ate not realizing that the chicken was undercooked. Of course I immediately stopped eating after I noticed that the taste of it was off. I don't recommend going here. Terrible customer service. This place used to be one of the most amazing fried chicken spots but I don't know what happened since that.

Hubby and I just went there yesterday got the bucket of chicken with large wedges all for damn near $50 it was trash the honey rolls carried the whole meal we rate it a 6 chicken was dark it taste old like rotten and the potato wedges were not cook in middle so nope I would NEVER RETURN 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ Change Ur chicken oil oh and the mumbo sauce is trash taste like thousand island 😂😂😂

I live 30-45 mins away in Maryland and if I have to go to DC for any reason I try to go to Honeymoon. This is hands down top 5 places to eat in DC.

Easily a 10/10! It was my first visit to D.C. and a friend suggested I stop by Honeymoon; I’m so happy I did. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and grabbed a seat at the bar (I went in early afternoon, so it was pretty empty.) I ordered the chicken sandwich, which was absolutely delicious. The portion size was perfect and the chicken itself wasn’t overly salty. I ordered a side of Brussel sprouts which were tasty as well. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in the city!
