I sent a letter to IHOP to change the policy. Here is what I wrote and what I wanted to share with everyone. The waitress was amazing!!!
Subject: Feedback on Veterans Day Meal Policy
Dear IHOP Team,
I visited one of your locations on 14th Street, in Washington, DC. I went to IHOP on Veterans Day to enjoy the Red, White, and Blue pancakes. While I was there, I witnessed two veterans coming in at 7 PM and being informed by the waitress that they could not receive the complimentary Veterans Day meal because the system stopped processing at 7 PM. This was disheartening, as I believe veterans should be honored all day, especially on such an important occasion.
To ensure they were treated with the respect they deserved, I paid for their meals myself. However, I strongly urge IHOP to reconsider the policy that limits the free meal offering to only a specific time. It would be much more appropriate to extend the complimentary meal until midnight or until closing time on Veterans Day, allowing all veterans to be honored properly, regardless of when they visit.
I hope you will take this feedback into consideration and make adjustments for 2025 and beyond to better honor our veterans, in and out of uniform.
Thank you for your time and for all that you do.
Sincerely,
Patrick

There was an incredible crazy worker. I’m honestly shocked that the place is still running. The food was okay I’m just shocked by the staff. My friends and I were treated with disrespect and felt uncomfortable. Do not recommend if you want to have a nice dining atmosphere and be treated with kindness. The staff members clearly do not care about customers only their selves.

I had a terrible experience in this IHOP. One of the staff members was extremely rude and engaged in a political debate with the customers. It was wild to see him do that and I will not be coming back to the establishment due to the worker. I’m sad because I loved ihop.

The staff were incredibly aggressive with my friends and me. Would not recommend, as I will not be coming back. I’ve always likes IHOP but this location has made me rethink that.

If you ever wanted to spend almost $20 for 5 frozen mozzarella sticks (and not even the monster mozzarella sticks that IHOP advertises but the small generic ones) or $11 for a bowl of tomato soup, then is the place to go! Times Square prices for a place uptown that doesn’t even get many tourists. Unsure of what they’re thinking here as there are tons of local options surrounding it that while they may be pricey in their own right does not come close to the rip off that is this IHOP. It’s also interesting to think about that if you drive 10-20 minutes in almost any direction there would be another IHOP that has sane normal prices. Lastly, the staff make you feel terrible for not dining in every time you pick up a to go order. I’m sorry, but that kind of attitude will never get me to come dine in. Don’t offer pick up if you’re gonna act salty about it.

THIS PLACE IS NOT OPEN 24 HOURS. I’ve gone to this ihop 2 times both around 2 am and both times it was closed for dine in. The hours need to be edited because wasting a trip to go down just for it to be closed is very frustrating.

Very bad experience, terrible food, poor service and very high price for the quality of service they provide. I always order and eat the same thing at other Ihop’s and I was surprised by the high price. Now I understand why the place was so empty…

Everything was great EXCEPT the incredibly high prices. After I got home, I checked and their prices were about 15% higher than even Doordash prices for IHOP. Other IHOPs within 10-12 miles list their items for $4-$7 less than this one.
If you are on an expense account, you'll have a lovely meal. Otherwise, I recommend hopping on metro and dining elsewhere.

It took 30 minutes to get our food the table next to us got their food in 15 minutes, my mother ordered the Eggs Benedict which was overhard and rubbery, I asked for crispy hash browns and came out looking like they threw a wad of strings into the deep fryer which was barely edible and like plastic texture.
