Our dad-daughter dinner at Ingle was an impromptu stroke of luck. We were hoping to try out an iconic local restaurant on U Street for the first time, but it was crowded and the music was so loud we had to look elsewhere. We headed west on U and then south on 14th St when my daughter saw the sign for Ingle Korean Steakhouse and thought it looked nice.
We decided to try the place sans reservation. The hostess sat us at the bar because it was going to be a few minutes before they could prepare a table. I sipped on a rye old fashioned that looked like it should have been featured in an ad for cocktails, while my daughter excitedly told me what would be her appetizer and main course when we ordered. The old fashioned was so delicious I ordered a second with dinner.
We were led to our table after just a few short minutes at the bar, where we were greeted by our waiter, Kenneth. He guided us through the menu choices. He explained the prix fixe menu choices or we could dine ala carte. My daughter is one of those kids who reads menus carefully and knows what sounds good to her so despite the intrigue of the prix fixe menu we decided to try her picks.
We got several appetizers, each more delicious than the one before it. We thought they were all superb, and neither of us could pick which one was our favorite if our lives depended on it.
We asked Kenneth if we had ordered an appropriate amount for the two of us as we were about to add more menu items. He admitted that we were probably already going to need a doggie bag. We appreciated his honesty. He was right; someone at home would be lucky enough to get a taste of the magnificent beef fried rice and the scallion pancakes we couldn't finish. Kenneth added that these were the best two items to take home because they traveled best.
We ended the night with espresso and black sesame ice cream. Ingle's menu does not mention affogatos per se, maybe because the dessert is technically not gelato, but Kenneth was more than familiar with how to serve the espresso and ice cream affogato style. After two bites, my daughter exclaimed it was the best affogato she's ever had regardless of what it was called. She then asked for a second scoop of the ice cream to add to her remaining espresso.
We're bringing the rest of the family with us next time. Then we're coming back with friends who we know will find this place as charming and delicious as we did on this first visit.

A great place for drinks and a small bite or a full meal. Fantastic food and atmosphere. The staff was all very friendly and the bartender Ian went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience. I am celiac and they were very accommodating. I will be going back in the future!

We made an impromptu stop for dinner here with no reservations and got a seat at the bar. Our bartender Ian was fantastic, made an excellent set of drinks, and assisted us with our selection in the menu. We had the steak tartare and a couple cocktails at the bar after which we chose to stay for a full meal. We spoke with the hostess was able to find us a table for dinner.
Our server cooked our hanger steak table side (this was the cut recommend by the manager, Ian asked them for us), and we enjoyed the steak fried rice. My girlfriend has celiac and they were able to accommodate with ensuring we removed unsafe options from our selection and the toppings on the table. The meal was delicious, atmosphere was great, and service was fantastic.
We will definitely be returning! Thank you Ian!

We came here for an early anniversary dinner and I could not be more pleased. I love Korean BBQ, but this was another level in terms of quality of beef cuts. We did the prix fixe dinner and the beef was truly melt in your mouth. I selected the corn cheese and added on the ssam to make lettuce wraps. The passion 5 was incredibly tart and delicious- I want to come back to the bar just for this drink! Our server Sean was awesome- the restaurant was new and he was great explaining everything and highlighted what I could and couldn’t have with my shellfish allergy. My partner and I can’t wait to come back for our next celebrations

Ingle delivers truly excellent Korean BBQ, with beautifully marbled, high-quality American wagyu cooked to perfection. The banchan, sides, and desserts are delicious. Additionally, they did a wonderful job with space which feels refined without being stuffy. DC finally has high-quality Korean BBQ.
hands down one of the best Korean steakhouses i’ve ever been to. the quality of the meat was unreal, fresh, and grilled to perfection. our server Sean was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely made the night memorable. he walked us through the menu like a pro, nailed every recommendation, and timed everything flawlessly without ever feeling rushed. you can tell he really cares about the guest experience. can’t wait to come back!
