Wonderful steak tartare. Appreciated the whole anchovies in the Cesar salad.

Owner is extremely friendly, let us sit at the bar when we came in just as they were closing, best espresso martini in town
I love this restaurant! Great neighborhood spot. I try to stop by every time I’m in the area. Great cocktails and service, and the owner is outgoing and enjoyable to chat with. Hard to find spots like this these days!

There’s very few times when you walk into somewhere and can tell immediately that the owner loves what they’re doing, Cynthia is most definitely one. Cocktails were unique and delicious and the food was exactly what I hoped it would be.

This is a beautifully decorated, cozy, romantic or active restaurant in DC. We were pleasantly surprised with Cynthia, the steak/frites was cooked perfectly to medium and the Cindy burger had a wonderful cheese addition. Service and atmosphere was stellar....definitely go now before reservations become tough!

Phil and his entire staff at Cynthia are fabulous! I love the bolognese, with a generous amount of protein. The best bruschetta in town! There’s always a great bar spot or a nice table for your next dinner on the town.

Amazing food, ambience, and creative drinks. They are busy, busy so come early if you want to sit at the bar or make reservations! No matter where you sit, great experience
Went here for the first time on 12/21/24. Such wonderful, cozy atmosphere and a great menu that fits the inviting vibe of the space. Food was superb, well-executed, and very approachable. Bar service was excellent. So happy to have a new spot to go for a drink and a bite that’s so close to home! We can’t wait to become regulars.

Meh. Wanted to love it (and did love parts of it - the vibe, the drinks, the sprouts) but service was slowwwwww even tho it was nearly empty. But what really killed it was our pasta…completely unsalted and flavorless. It was so odd because the rest of the food was great. Maybe we should have sent it back? Just not sure I’d give it another chance for the price.

I ordered the Cynthia burger with the substitution of the chips for fries, and no where on the menu read that the upcharge was $4. However, the bun was charred and fries were over cooked, it came with too much sauce as a condiment. I found the mocktails pleasantly good. The experience wasn't worth the $63 price tag.

Great place! Great food and fun bar. Phil was a very attentive bartender… when I yelled his name real loud. Just kidding. ;)

Dinner tonight was absolutely amazing! We’ve always loved the bar’s happy hour from 4-7 PM—the drinks are spot on every time. Dinner was next-level good, especially the fish burger, which might just be my new favorite. The atmosphere, the food, the service—it all was perfect.

What a cozy vibe this neighborhood spot is! Love the new owner Phil, he brings such a fun energy to the dining experience. Food is fantastic, lots of variety for a full tasting experience but still cohesive in its presentation.
Will be adding Cynthia to our regular date night rotation!
