One if the best jazz club secrets in the DC area. Live jazz band and singers. Great food. The salmon and shrimp wrapped in bacon are to die for

Amazing, limited space for a great jazz experience. Food was reasonable and delicious. Jazz during a great mail did not disappoint on a Wednesday night.

When making my reservation I specifically selected a table on the first floor where the jazz is being played. This was in celebration for my birthday, so I was very excited and splurged on the experience in general. When we got there we had to wait outside and were led to a table upstairs, not where the music was being played. The atmosphere upstairs was nothing like what I imagined when booking the reservation. When I asked if we would eventually move downstairs, they said maybe, and never checked in again. Drinks were mostly ice but very good. The lighting was not ideal either. The people were very nice but overall not what I wanted for the night. I even put in the comments of my reservation that it was a celebration and we recieved less than what was booked. Would not come back, but go for yourself, I'm sure it was just an off night.

This is a great place to listen to authentic jazz music and to engage with interesting people. The food is magnificent. I wasn't crazy about the bread pudding dessert. If you just want to dine without the music there is a 2nd level. There is a 2 hour seating limit on the lower level and a $10 cover if sitting at a table. No cover at the bar.

Happy hour bites and drinks at reasonable price points. Entrees are more. Seating is best reserved or arrive early for very limited bar seats. Typically there is some live entertainment at some point in the evening.

Great bar and quality bites. Nice atmosphere and good music. We were here for the Amanda Gardiner Trio- exceptional performance! Cocktails are very nice as well.
Thank you 😊

Jojo's Restaurant and Bar was a place I stumbled upon when around the area. It's located on the U street corridor and popular for its live jazz music. Chatting with the bartender, I've discovered that the area has a strong Black influence that draws a lot of rising musicians here.
Live music is from Wednesday through Sunday. The musician line up can be found on their website.
Reservations are recommended if you want a table close to the band. Seats at the bar do not require reservation. Scan the QR code for the menu.
JoJo's is a cool place to hangout and listen to live jazz music.

Great jazz quartet playing on Wednesday night. Kitchen served big portions of a unique take on New Orleans cuisine.

Restaurant has a nice vibe and the food is tasty. The live jazz performance was amazing. If more than two people, I suggest you make reservations if you want to see the live performances on the 1st floor. I was solo, so I just sat at the bar. Everyone was friendly. I’ll be back!

We were here for a birthday celebration. Music and vibes were great. Its very tight so get there early. Would definently come again. Great for date night, but loud when band is playing.

I ordered the steak with the mushroom sauce and side of mash 10/10. The drinks are also very solid!

We managed to snag a last-minute reservation—thankfully—because JoJo’s was packed, and without it, we likely would have been waiting much longer for a table. Our server was kind, attentive, and kept things moving smoothly despite the busy atmosphere.
Taste:
We each had a glass of wine and ordered appetizers, both of which were delicious and well-prepared. The flavors were fresh and balanced, making it easy to enjoy while taking in the live jazz. Most people’s dinner plates looked fantastic, we will definitely come back for a full dinner.
Ambiance:
We had heard so much about JoJo’s, especially its jazz music, and were excited to experience it for ourselves. While we were expecting more of a traditional jazz lounge, it’s important to note that JoJo’s is a full restaurant with live jazz performances. Downstairs seating comes with a $10 per person jazz fee and a two-hour time limit. The space is cozy and a bit tight, so be prepared to overhear (or join in) conversations at neighboring tables.
Overall Review:
JoJo’s delivers on great food, attentive service, and lively jazz. It’s a vibrant spot to enjoy an evening out—just keep the seating style and cover charge in mind. We’ll definitely be back, especially to check out their happy hour, which we hear is worth the visit.
