Had a delicious meal with fantastic service at Abuare. We arrived at 6 on a Saturday evening, were seated right away, and had honey wine and a veggie platter at our table by 6:10. The wait staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful. Food was delicious! DC (and the DMV) are full of great Ethiopian food, and this is a solid choice if you’re in the U St area.
I’ve been here 3 times now, and to several other Ethiopian restaurants in the city. This is definitely my favorite, for a number of reasons. I had an amazing time at Abuare. After my haircut at the lady clipper next door, I walked past their happy hour sign and gave them a try. They made this amazing sangria from scratch and just happened to have the beautiful pink tulips sitting by.
