Love this place. Steps away from Union Station. I guess it could be considered a little divy, (which is right up my alley) but a great place to have a Guiness and a Jameson while waiting for your train. Bartenders are friendly, and you will always strike up a good conversation with people sitting at the bar. I always stop here whenever I go to Washington.
$9 for a Jameson shot seems a bit high, even for DC; maybe I need to get out more?!
Positives: they serve Guinness, and the place is unpretentious.
Cop car shrine is somewhat sobering -- pardon the pun.
Parking: Right next to The Dubliner. So, you could kill two birds with one parking spot, so to speak, and enjoy a dive bar (Kelly's) and a "posh" bar.

Kelly’s The Irish Times on Capitol Hill was the perfect place to swerve into to avoid an incoming storm approaching Washington, D.C. (Fri, May 30, 2025). The Irish pub had caught our eye during our earlier visit to D.C. the previous weekend.
