The ambiance the staff the service was amazing. The team was exceptional from the door to the table. Our server Juan was particular helpful and VERY attentive. The service was top notch. He was very catering and offered amazing recommendations. I had the egg bowl and maple donut which was a perfect way to kick off my evening. Highly recommend you check out the new vibes and scene La Betty is bringing to the area.

The donuts are pretty good though quite standard quality for this area, including the price. Their breakfast biscuits seem to be degrading in quality, which is a shame. The coffee is good but on the pricier side for this area. I tried “dining in” for the first time today after they had switched from their baked joint location. I hope they go back to allowing you to seat yourself and not rely on a waiter, as their waiters are not good at all. The waiter completely forgot about our food and didn’t bring it to us until we asked about 30 minutes later (just two donuts). He didn’t check on us even once, and yet we were expected to tip. When I asked him for their specialties, he had to go into the back to ask. He didn’t seem very familiar with what they had on their menu or provided at the restaurant/café. I’m not sure what we were tipping him for. There were not a lot of people there. I really miss our neighborhood coffee spot and I hope they reform this location to be more like baked joint. It certainly doesn’t feel like it’s part of the neighborhood anymore.

I’ve gone to La Betty AM twice since it replaced A Baked Joint, and both times have been awful.
First visit: I ordered two chais, a cinnamon roll, and some banana bread. The banana bread was fine. The place was half as busy as a baked joint used to be but it took almost twice as long for my chais to arrive, which is when I was told that they were out of cinnamon rolls. They offered me a refund, which I was fine with, but it’s been a month and I haven’t received one, so they stole my money. It was just a slightly overpriced cinnamon roll though, no big deal, mistakes happen.
Second visit: I ordered banana bread and cookies. It took 10 minutes to grab premade items and put them in a bag, except that once again, they didn’t have an item - this time the 4 cookies that I ordered. Once again, I already paid for them, and although I did receive a refund this time, the experience was still very off-putting. On top of that, the bread was stale. Serving stale bread at 7:45 in the morning is … a choice.
Summary: La Betty AM has charged me for items that I never received without providing me a refund for it. I don’t recommend spending your money here.

The best natural wine selections in dc, two different vibes at night, before 8pm was laidback, chill music selection, great way to hang out and have a glass before dinner. After 8pm, it was upbeat and fun, old school hiphop that night, seating was pretty spaced out so not crowded, great place for couples or groups. Lots of seating options for different vibes, lounge seating, window seats, booth seats, etc. Service was good, host in front takes you to your seat, then you order at the bar, great idea for a place like this imo

I’ve stopped by for a few weekends now, and I really like the new space! it’s got this eclectic, retro, earthy feel. I was able to get what I used to get from baked the server told me they refreshed the menu it’s supposed to be a nice mix of new items and some older offerings. It does get pretty busy here on weekends, so I’d recommend coming earlier if you want to grab a seat.

It appears as if their focus has changed. aesthetics wins, service not so much in the AM. its not the coffee shop / lunch/sweet treat spot like baked joint. the service model is unknown. I waited so long for an online order that was overdue, and many staff were wandering behind the counter, but not one said anything to me or any others waiting for service. I used to go here multiple times a week but not now.
The service and the ordering process is really bad. Completely unclear how to order when doing a walk in, and the waitstaff doesn’t notice you after you’re seated. Somehow the coffee orders have slowed down 10x from the baked joint. Miss having a neighborhood bakery staple with the bread varietals and the baked goods.

Wow - remarkable experience. The service and wine consultation was expert and concise. We were well informed and ordered the Milu, delicious and exactly what we were looking for. The food, also great. Would recommend the truffle fries. Music - 10/10, Atmosphere - 10/10, Decor - 10/10 - so comfy and beautiful furniture.
Particularly Alexa was incredibly helpful and kind. Would absolutely recommend to anyone in DC!
