Awful experience. The service was slow and unprofessional, but the worst part was the manager — shockingly rude and mean-spirited. A wine bar should feel welcoming; instead, this one felt hostile. I won’t be returning and don’t recommend it.

La Betty was a huge disappointment. The manager was rude and dismissive from the very beginning, which set the wrong tone right away. Our order took forever to arrive, and when it finally did, it wasn’t worth the wait. The worst part — I saw a roach on the table. Completely unacceptable in any place serving food and drinks. I would never come back.

la Betty is the next best hangout spot for Washington’s vibrant and dynamic community. Fit with wonderful lounge chairs, and eclectic vinyls, one can sit back and sip away the days troubles. The service is outstanding and while their selection of natural wine is impressive one would be remiss if their visit didn’t include any of the establishments food offerings. From the Chef’s Sliders to the Tiger Shrimp, their menu was surprisingly diverse. Don’t forget to get yourself an order of the McBetty French Fries, and if you are feeling it, get it with the truffle and parm add on. You won’t regret it!

Loved this wine bar! Staff (alexa I think) helped us pick a natural wine based on what we typically get and it was excellent. Food was delicious. We got sliders, whipped goat cheese (lots of olives which I liked), and the wings. We went on a Wednesday night when it wasn’t super busy but want to go back for a weekend with the DJ. Overall great wine, bites and vibes.

I’ve been to La Betty a few times, but this past weekend will be my last. Our group of 10 came to celebrate a birthday. Following their own protocol, we emailed ahead of time and were told there’d be no issue. Despite this, the manager greeted us by reprimanding my friend in front of the few other patrons there. Instead of offering solutions she opted to speak in a demeaning tone, threatened to call the owner multiple times, and even confused my friend for a different Black woman.
While apologies were later given by the owner, no action was taken. Next time I’ll be going to St. Vincent Wine where the service, and drinks, are vastly better.

I had a very disappointing experience at La Betty.
I arrived with a small group (10 people) after confirming details over email, but the manager greeted me with hostility and insisted she hadn’t been notified and repeatedly threatened to call the owner. Even after I offered to show the email, she dismissed me and later confused me with another Black woman.
For the rest of the night, she avoided eye contact and treated me with open disrespect, turning what should have been a celebratory occasion into an uncomfortable one.
La Betty has potential to be a great neighborhood spot, but leadership needs to address the temperament of the on duty manager. No one should feel unwelcome in an establishment they chose to spend money in.

Came here for my birthday and was humiliated by the manager. She rudely confronted my group, loudly singled us out in front of other guests over “fire marshal concerns,” even though the restaurant was nearly empty and other patrons were standing without issue. She then avoided us the rest of the night while one dish took over 40 minutes to arrive.
With so many wine bars in DC, there’s no reason to come here and be disrespected. Never returning.

This is an incredible experience! The wine beverages were delicious, and it’s all natural, woke up feeling great the next day. I had the sliders and the wings, both were amazing. The whole vibe is awesome! The DJs playing vinyl made the night incredible. The staff was friendly, welcoming and they were also having a great time, listening to the music and being cordial. Every need was met and anticipated, this is a must visit when you are in DC!

Cute low key wine bar. They have a great selection of wine. The bites are good too. Would recommend the KFC chili wings. The decor is nice. Very cozy and comfy. They have records spinning all night and they really figured out their acoustics so that the music is overwhelmingly loud and you can still hear your friends talking.
