Please allow dog owners a way to get a quick coffee. We only have but so many options in NoMa…figure out a way to allow us to order ahead or order from outside. It’s really disappointing to get turned away holding my dog in my arms which ultimately resulted in losing my business. With the increase in dog thefts in DC, I’m not taking a chance leaving mine outside. I hate to have to choose Starbucks over La Colombe because they allow dogs inside for the >5min it takes to order the coffee and leave…online ordering would expedite this even further.
La Colombe in REI NoMa Review: Hidden Gem with Great Coffee
Tucked away inside the REI in NoMa, La Colombe offers fantastic coffee. The standout drinks include the draft coffees like the vanilla latte, seasonal pumpkin spice draft, and the lemonade shandy. It's a hidden gem for coffee lovers, providing high-quality beverages in a unique setting.

I value morning coffee a lot and think that coffee in a mug tastes better. Can confirm this coffee was delicious and the staff was very nice.

Open at 7 almost inside the REÍ. Worth checking out the Rawanda drip!

• Speed - 5/5Very quick. Ordering a vanilla matcha latte and a chocolate croissant, the wait-time was under three minutes.• Quality - 4/5High quality chocolate in a flaky croissant, which suffered lightly from having sat in a display case with no heating element ortoaster. The latte was hot, fluffy, and mellow. However, the matcha, while of good quality, was overpowered almost entirely by vanilla and the whole-milk itself due to its minimal presence (edit: still very mild matcha, but remember to stir! They offer you spoons!) It was still a delight. I enjoy that they do not pump their drinks full of sweetener as in other coffee places.• Atmosphere - 4/5Busy, small, but warm. Overlooks a large store from an isolated nook that stands right by the entrance. Clean and tidy. No electronics beeping, or shouting about orders. Minimal staff interaction. Still noisy.Great for a quick stop and idle conversation when in need of coffee and pastry, but not particularly memorable as a unique location of creative menu design or aesthetic. This is a convenient and pleasant location.
Dietary restrictions: Offers various milks. Does not appear to heavily pre-sweeten drinks, but do ask.
Kid-friendliness: While very crowded, kids can come in and enjoy options like muffins and hot chocolate.

$5 for a hot chocolate that tastes horrible. It’s steamed milk with chocolate syrup. The employees didn’t say a word. I felt like I was in Seattle. The REI store was nice and the employees were friendly.
