In remembrance of La Jolie Bleue (which I am very sad to see is now closed)... When I discovered La Jolie Bleue in May 2021, it quickly became my favorite cafe/bakery in the entire DMV area. Family owned, Mediterranean, bursting with unique items and flavors. The meat kofta they had was one of the most delicious savory pastries I have ever had. The spices, the perfectly balanced textures/flavors, soooo incredibly good. The pastries (from chocolate croissants to baklavas) were delightful as well. Quiches made with love and filled with a variety of veggies and meats. And their smoothies (called "refreshers") - wow, a burst of flavor for a healthy icy treat? Say it isn't so! It really is a casualty that La Jolie Bleue has closed. I'm not sure why it didn't get the attention it deserved (it almost always was empty each of the 5+ times I visited), though you can see by other reviews that La Jolie Bleue was truly special. I really hope the family that made this starts a new cafe/bakery somewhere close by. Their food is a gift to mankind.

The best baklava I have ever had in my life. Period. And I have had alot of baklava. The rose water, the honey, cinnamon, walnuts oh my goodness. It was beautiful. Can you believe I find the best baklava of my life the day they close their Georgetown location. What kind of tragic romance?!? Well whenever they come back which I hear will be at farmers markers I will follow. The almond cookies were just as amazing and the date cookie was beautiful. I love that you taste the ingredients like clove and cardamom. Whoever is making the sweets here is absolutely doing the beautiful spices and ingredients of the middle east justice. The moroccan mint tea was divine. Ah I love this place.

I come here about once a month for the best baklava and almond cigars I've ever had. The savory foods are pretty decent but way overpriced. Coffee is ok. I just come for the honey flakey nutty treats.

Parking near this place is difficult, but it's worth the effort. The food is delicious. I got a chicken and mushroom quiche along with a couple of pastries that I hadn't seen since my visit to Greece. I was so excited to see these pastries and they were homemade. All the food was. I'm so glad I stopped there.

La Jolie Bleue is a triumph! We were traveling to DC as tourists and this quaint restaurant was recommended online, as one of the better places to grab lunch! The owner was a delight and took pride in explaining all of the different baked goods available - all handmade from her own recipes. She honestly couldn’t be more helpful or attentive. The real pride is the baklava - thick honeyed layers with that amazing nut filling. Make your way for this if anything else!

Don't miss out and try merguez Sandwich and take with you some traditional Algerian sweets with you, even the drinks are made fresh, and the place is also halal! Thanks guys for the amazing hospitality!

Best baklava I've ever had. Incredible quiche too. The owners are really sweet and everything is made fresh that day. They have a rotating array of greek desserts that are all really good. I haven't had the coffee myself, but I know others have like it.

Awesome place to eat! The food is amazing and the owners are awesome, friendly people. During our visit to DC and stay in Georgetown this is the ONLY place we ate at more than once, 3 times to be exact! Everything we had was fresh and delicious! We will definitely be back to see you guys on our next visit!

Stopped in for a quick bite while shopping in the area. Had the chicken platter and fresh squeezed lemon and lime drink. All very good. Food was fresh. Limited seating but very clean. Primarily a med bakery. Got several baclava pastries to go which were quite good. Staff very friendly and helpful.

I am new in DC so I did a survey of Georgetown cafes and croissants. This shop has the best and the baklava is amazing. It's not cloyingly sweet which I appreciate. I am working my way through the menu and tonight's dinner is sauced chicken, couscous and vegetables for partner. Lamb for me. I will definitely be back.

Found this place during the walk from Cathedral to Georgetown. Nice place with interesting and tasty French cuisine! You can take refreshing drink and several sweets (they are not crazy American-like sweets).
