One of the few places in DC that feels authentically French. You can find a lot of classics here that aren't served elsewhere like rabbit and sweetbreads. They have excellent bread and a nice bar. There's also great people watching here. It's one of the places where it feels like locals have been going forever. A little on the pricey side, but a nice treat.

The perfect, quaint French cafe experience. Wonderful food and wine and incredibly friendly efficient staff. Will be back on our visits to D.C.

We had great food and service on Saturday evening. The two of us enjoyed the soup special, the house salad, the salmon tartare and the Duck Roti a l'orange. All were fabulous. This is a terrific restaurant to have in the neighborhood.

Always great fun to dine at La Piquette. Strong on substance and form and without any pretense. The consulate neighborhood spot for excellent French food and wine with warm and friendly hospitality hospitality.

Good is excellent. High quality. Immaculately executed. Cod was amongst the freshest I’ve had. Steak frites delicious. Any crème anglaise based dessert is a must try. Found some fun wines from the Languedoc as well. Highly recommend.

We dine frequently at La Piquette with a friend who lives nearby and it's consistently lovely. The food quality and portions, the wine, the warm atmosphere, the attentive but unobtrusive service - everything lends itself to just the evening we're hoping for.
Great place for lunch with nice 2 and 3 course prix fixe menus, but also many appealing a la carte options. We had French onion soup which was wonderful: piping hot, nicely cheesy and flavorful broth. Generous good bread is a nice plus here. Service could have been more attentive but the place was very busy. nice buzzy environment.

Been several times and the food is always on point. For appetizers I highly recommend the mushrooms or artichokes. Their grilled chicken is one of my favorites in DC.

I hope it was just an off night. Dinner was not nearly as good as usual and it was expensive. We had the escargot and salade Maison - both meh. We both had the steak frites - the fries were the best part of the meal - the steak was tough and a little too rare for me. Disappointing.

Noise level was "low" because we ate outside, the blankets provided on each chair chasing off the chill. This neighborhood jewel is reliable, friendly and true to its bistro identity. It doesn't try to be anything than an local bistro with fresh, well prepared standards.

I love the food; I admire the friendly service; the location could not be better. However, La Piquette is a small place and the tables are very close together. That is my only complaint and that complaint is inspired by the lingering pabdemic. Still, I obviously frequent La Piquette and will continue to do so. It is fine yet basic French cusine without the arrogance of the trendy.
