Would recommend for a glass of wine and appetizer! Stopped in for dinner and the food was tasty but felt overpriced for the portions. The shrimp dish was good but shrimp were slightly overcooked and felt like a very expensive starter. The hummus was delish! Wine was great and cocktail was less than amazing.

This is the first time I’ve been disappointed with Meli. I’ve gone three times and had always thought of it fondly, but this past visit really caused me to re-think it. First, they’ve shifted their menu away from small plates, taking away some of the menu items that we really liked (the chicken kebabs). Second, I ordered wine and my first glass was arguably not a full restaurant pour; I regret not saying something immediately, because it’s $15 for a glass. Then, our entrees took a really long time to arrive to the table. I’m talking 30 min or more. I had polished off my 1.5 glasses of wine, and then was still waiting for food (and I had to make strong eye contact with the waiter for him to even realize that our food wasn’t there). There was some acknowledgment that we had waited a long time, but between the service and the weak pour, we’re just really disappointed in the experience.

Food was good. Staff was clueless. “Membership” is auto renewing and 22% gratuity is included.

This place was such a surprise! I went because I am a nerd and was curious about fun zoning workaround, but became enamored with the wine program and food. Sophie is an incredible somm—super knowledgeable and very approachable. I am not a giant fan of Greek wines, but due to the experience, I joined the wine concierge club on the first visit. $100 bucks a month, custom-assembled based on my likes and dislikes. In addition to unique wines at reasonable price points per bottle for a restaurant, the food is the best Greek food in DC, hands down. I’ve recommended the place to several friends already and plan to take many more wine and food lovers as my guest.

Very cute outdoor space. Very nice service. I liked the wine selection and the sommelier gave us great advice. I was really disappointed in the taramasalata. The crispy potatoes, halloumi, prawns, and the bean dish were tasty. Still a teeny confused about the membership thing.

I LOVE this place, an absolute hidden gem, excellent food and every single member of staff is wonderful. I’m telling everyone I know to come with me. My buddy adored the food and immediately got a membership too. Can’t wait to come back!

I popped into Meli with a friend and my nearly one year old baby on a Saturday afternoon, right at 4pm when they opened for happy hour. We were floored by the great service, nice ambiance and delicious food! We ordered the Htipiti dip, hummus, with pita chips and bread. Also the falafel, halloumi burger and potatoes. Everything was incredible and filling. We also both had the Greek sangria which was great. Finally rounded things off with an espresso, the vanilla ice cream w/ olive oil & sea salt and the a coconut cream dessert. Again, it was delightful! The servers were so genuinely kind and hospitable, especially to my little one - which can be hard to find at a nicer restaurant! They even let us know they have a special time for parents with kids called sips & strollers on Thursday afternoons. Thank you Meli, we’ll be back!

What a delightful place and so fortunate to have it in the neighborhood. Great food, excellent service and space itself (and the building it is part of) is absolutely lovely. We would go back and recommend it to everyone.

This is a great upscale Greek restaurant. We didn't have a bad dish. The service was fantastic. Favorite dishes included white beans, peas, and red pepper dish. For desserts my favorite was the lemon cake. The wine list includes a lot of interesting Greek wines that run the gamut.

We are here for dinner last night and while the food was good, the service was very slow. Additionally, we were charged $42 for one Old Fashioned—not sure if that was the actual price, but absurd if it is!
Genuinely had the best time at Meli. The food was excellent - all my colleagues agreed. And the WINE. I can’t say enough about this beautifully curated list of delicious and interesting Greek wines. If you’re wine curious and want to experience things you won’t get anywhere else, go to Meli and have a chat with the team about their options. I somehow managed to buy three bottles off the menu to take home just because I trusted the team’s expertise on wines after chatting with them on what to order to pair with our meal. I can’t wait to come back and honestly wish I lived upstairs.
