I went to Mai Thai for a friend's celebration. I ordered the mojito and their tom kha gai (coconut mushroom chicken) soup. One thing to note if you're gluten free or celiac, they have very limited gluten free options. To start, we were a large group of 12 people. The waitress started taking drink orders from one side of the table and skipped about four of us, even though we were ready to order. My soup, even though I specified was my entree, came way before everyone's food, so I basically ate alone and then stared at people why they ate their entrees! The drink was really good, and nicely decorated. However, the soup was mediocre, to be honest. It was mostly liquid, few pieces of mushroom (cut in huge chunks, barely cooked) and chicken. I do not recommend ordering the soup at all! When it was time to pay, they do not split checks, so one person had to put down their credit card. I think this place is overrated, and would only return if someone really wants to go.

Excellent Thai food! Lots of vegetarian and vegan options too. The staff was very friendly and helped us out with what could be the good choices for vegan options. We ordered the Thai green curry and pineapple rice.Don’t miss the Thai green curry it’s amazing however you can skip the pineapple rice because it didn’t live upto the expectations.Street Parking is difficult to find but lot of paid garages nearby.

I think it is a pretty good Thai restaurant in DC. The price is moderate and the dishes are delicious. The food is served quickly and the service is friendly. I will come again if I have the opportunity.

Needs updating. Service was excellent but a bit pushy at times to clear plates and refill waters.Food was a bit better than okay. My hubs loved his Massaman but I was let down by the blandness of the papaya salad and saltiness of both the honey chicken and cashe chicken dishes. The miso soup was met and barely warm. Spring rolls were the highlight imho

Best fried rice I’ve had ever!! I ordered the fried rice with chicken and my husband had the Pacific Roll with noodles and we were both so impressed with how amazing everything was. The service was great too! We will be coming back here a lot!

Mai Thai earns three stars for its picturesque location and speedy service. However, the flavors of the dishes lacked depth and authenticity during my visit. With some culinary refinement, Mai Thai has the potential to deliver a more satisfying dining experience.

As a Thai Native, I enjoy the authentic Coconut Curry at Mai Thai.I ordered Red Curry Jae from Vegetarian Menu for my dinner. It came with the fried tofu. I did not know and asked for "No Fried Tofu" in my curry. Staff were very supportive. He removed the fried tofu and added steamed vegetables for me. The red curry (No added spice from original curry paste) was delicious. The first bite, I remembered the red curry in Thailand cooked by mom.I came back another day to try Green Curry Jae - Vegetarian (asked for no Tofu!) It's delicious! The quality is consistent with generous fresh vegetables! I sat outside and it's peaceful and beautiful ambience! Thank you!!Note that Green Curry is made from Green Chilies which is more spicy than Red Curry!Curry paste is authentic.Generous portion of vegetables. Come with Jasmine Rice.Good quality of coconut creamNo MSGFresh vegetables and ingredientsCoconut is considered as a "Fruit of God". Coconut is Pure Energy. Coconut Curry makes my skin so soft and radiant with natural moisturizer!I love Coconut Oil as it's natural. Let food be thy medicine!I highly recommend to try authentic Thai foods here. Very nice staff, Chefs. Thank you! KathyVegetarian options: Green Curry Jae and Red Curry Jae (ask for no fried tofu, only vegetables) are deliciousDietary restrictions: Gluten Free, Soy Free, Vegan

This is the perfect dinner after a day in Georgetown. The Pad Thai, Red Curry Jae and Thai Iced Tea are fantastic. The pineapple fried rice is nice, but I've definitely had better. I've been here twice and plan to go again.

I came to eat with my friends and family the total is 4 peopleI and one child. They charged me 20% gratuity without telling me and even worse that they charged after tax.Do we have to pay tip after tax? Tax is only for government and why I have to pay tip 20 percent after tax? That’s is very very bad and I don’t think it is legally to do like this. Can someone please explain to me if this is legally or not. In the mean time I will find the answer and want to do something with this kind of unfairness.

In a great area and great atmosphere. We ordered a few things and all were delicious! The pineapple fried rice and curry were delicious! Pricing was decent in comparison to other restaurants in the area.

Server refilled my drink without asking me and then charged me for two drinks. It doesn’t even say on the menu that refills are extra. What a deceptive restaurant that preys on Georgetown students. 12$ for lemonade is criminal. Hate to tear down a small business but I would avoid these scammers and visit the plethora of other places nearby.
