Food was not bad but not good either, calamari were dry, when asked for a sauce they gave what looked and tasted like pre fab marinara, both pasta dishes we ordered were extremely bland sauce, would never go back here with all the good Italian food in DC - centrolina, officina, masseria, red hen, capatosta, lupo verde all so much better. I’m not sure if the previous good reviews mean something happened to the chefs or kitchen but I can’t believe the ratings it was beyond mediocre.
Came here for brunch on Saturday and the food was amazing- I’d say the menu is a bit more limited than typical DC brunch spots but the quality is top notch. Ricotta pancakes were incredible, and the crispy potatoes were perfectly seasoned. I’m giving three stars because I usually like this place and find their hosts and servers to be great. I went for dinner last night and sat at the bar. One of their cocktails was a “Riverwalk Spritz” which was essentially all of the ingredients of a Hugo Spritz plus aperol. I told the bartender to just remove the aperol from their original cocktail and he said “that’s not possible.” I then proceeded to explain that a Hugo Spritz is what I want. He scoffed/was rude...
