MAMMA DOS is a wonderful cafe in downtown DC, one block from The Washington Post. It occupies the old Paul Bakery space under the same ownership and has received a fresh face lift. The staff is really friendly and the service is excellent and exceptional. The food is delicious and a must try. Specific dishes praised include the tomato soup, grilled cheese, mushroom soup, salmon BLT, southwest chicken bowl, and croissant. The southwest chicken bowl has a dressing that really makes the dish stand out. While some items like the grilled cheese and tomato soup can be pricey, the experience is highly recommended. Many customers state they will definitely order from here again.
