The fact that I don't have pictures of the food should be enough said. But I like over sharing.
The Tacos Al Pastor were banging and you can get a side of Salmon?! Wicked.
I'm a fan. Maybe I'll take pictures next time

My experience at Mary's was so good that I'm bothering to leave a review! I happen to be visiting DC for a couple of days. Mary's came up when I was looking for a place to eat not too far from my Airbnb. Every single part of the shrimp fajitas meal - the rice, the beans, the shrimp, etc. was delicious! My mom enjoyed her margarita, as well. Also, the staff was warm and attentive. This is clearly a charming little neighborhood spot that I'd recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Service was quick and friendly, and she seemed to have perfect timing to check in on me.
I ordered the queso dip, it was pretty standard for queso. Good enough.
For my meal i had the chicken quesadilla. This was very likely the best chicken quesadilla I've ever had. It was hefty and stuffed to the brim with chicken. The chicken was seasoned amazingly and cooked perfectly.
I definitely recommend stopping in for a meal.

Great pupusas, can’t wait to try the Tex-Mex food, too. Very family-friendly, great service, good drinks.
Excellent food and service! The fajitas were cooked perfectly and seasoned well but not too salty. Highly recommend eating there to enjoy the music and small restaurant feel. The young lady was super polite and pleasant

Thank you for treating me with care.
The lady was super nice and helpful. She gave me a mosquito spray because we sat outside. The prices are decent and the food was great. We didnt wait long before getting it for how much we ate

Went here on the 18th of August, we barely approached our seats (we sat outside) when the server came with some complimentary water. After visiting DC I know it is hard to get water so +1 for that.
She also offered mosquito repellent since we were being swarmed, and I got to say it was a first time for me. After that we placed our order and got our food, pupusas were 4 dollars each which is a bit higher than what I'm used to in Houston (but that is fine considering different cost of living). We also got a large horchata which wasn't indicated on the menu so who knows how much it was.
The pupusas had curtido on the side which we very much devoured. The horchata was good, albeit on the dustier side (did not bother me)
At the end we payed for our food and didn't get to see my receipt which isn't a great bother, however I would've loved to see how much the large horchata was due to my meal being upwards of 20 USD.
Overall, I do recommend.

Restaurantji Recommends
I enjoyed the shrimp and chicken bowl over rice, topped with mixed lettuce and sautéed zucchini—it was absolutely delicious! To make it even better, I treated myself to a peach mango margarita on the rocks. Such a great meal! 🔥🔥🔥

Hands down the BEST Mexican food I’ve ever had. My boyfriend and I went here for dinner while visiting D.C. The restaurant is small and cozy, with more outdoor seating than indoor. The night we went, we didn’t have to wait at all to be sat inside. I got the birria quesadilla and my boyfriend got the birria tacos. I’m from Georgia and have been to multiple local Mexican restaurants and tried lots of birria quesadillas. Mary’s bar and grill has the BEST, and I mean THE BEST, MOST DELICIOUS birria quesadilla I have EVER HAD!!! I highly recommend this place!!! The servers were so sweet. You can tell they really want you to enjoy your visit 🩷.
