The place has great atmosphere. The dips are bland they are different but they all taste band. Bread was prepared earlier and was dense. Food was not bad but was not great. The best was the slow cooked lamb it was perfect.

I made a reservation for an important birthday, expecting to sit in the incredibly beautiful dining room as we did before. Instead we were ushered across the street to a secondary space and seated in a cramped corner near the open kitchen/bar at an insanely small table with the worst chairs that gave me a awful backache (headed to the chiropractor tomorrow) not AT ALL all what I expected for a $300 meal - which was very good. However, the setting was a huge disappointment and embarrassment for a 60th bday celebration that was supposed to be special.

The whole experience at Maydan was superb. It was our second time to the restaurant and we were lucky to snag a table near the hearth where all food is cooked. Each dish was superb and I would highly recommend this restaurant. The flavors are sublime and there was no dish that did not taste great.

Me and my girlfriend went on a recommendation. for our 6th anniversary-- so thankful! We sat at the bar and got the Tawle menu. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was too! However... we were freezing. It was uncomfortably cold. We had to keep our coats on and we're cold the entire time.

Wonderful Birthday dinner. We did the tasting menu with the lamb. Our favorite entree was the Ribeye. The hummus was amazing very easy to fill up on with the bread before you even have your salad. The service was excellent and server made very helpful suggestions. Wonderful experience and great intro to a new cuisine for our party.

I've been waiting for a few years to get to go to Maydan. I don't live in the area so finally had a trip to DC and was able to go. It was so delicious and surpassed my expectations. I'll be going back next time I have a trip align with a Maydan location.

Went in for dinner after hearing a few coworkers mention this place, and it turned out to be a pretty solid choice. The menu had a good mix of familiar Middle Eastern dishes and a few things I hadn’t tried before. I ordered a mixed grill plate and the portions were fair for the price. Meat was cooked well, though one item was a little more salty than I expected. The bread came out warm and fresh, which was nice. Service was polite and not rushed, even during a busier hour. Overall, it felt like a dependable spot for a casual meal and I’d consider coming back again.
I’d suggest sitting indoors to appreciate the open brick hearth, where meats are cooked over live fire in full view of the dining room.

As someone who is middle eastern with high standards for middle eastern food and drinks, I was looking for a DC spot that delivers without trying too hard. This spot didn’t just deliver on every front, it absolutely raised my expectations for food, drink and hospitality. A must try if you are middle eastern (their food is certified Halal) or if you like middle eastern food. Shout out to Rose Previte for creating such beautiful concept and to Nancy and Rebecca for their outstanding hospitality.
