The ability to share small plates us the best.... Very reasonable and the tea is out of this world. Great service.....
What an amazing experience!! Went here for my boyfriends birthday and the service with Sam was spectacular. He gave amazing recommendations and took our likes into consideration. Overall amazing service and the food was amazing can’t wait to come back!!

We had a truly wonderful dinner at Medina, the sister restaurant to Maydan, and the entire experience—from start to finish—was exceptional. The food was absolutely delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and beautifully presented, and the service throughout the evening was warm, attentive, and welcoming without ever feeling overbearing.
What truly set Medina apart, however, was what happened after our meal. With all the snow and ice that night, I slipped outside and unknowingly dropped my phone. I didn’t realize it was missing until later and called the restaurant, hoping it might have been found. Instead of a simple “we’ll keep an eye out,” two staff members went back out into the cold, searching through the snow until they found it. When I picked it up the next morning, they wouldn’t even accept a tip.
That level of kindness, care, and integrity is rare. Medina delivers not only excellent food, but truly outstanding hospitality. It was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in DC, and I can’t wait to return again soon.

Overall a great experience.
Seating is a weird mix of couches and tables and people sitting at the bar.
If you’re there for drinks then sitting at a couch with a low table is fine, but we ended up having appetizers and multiple courses while seated on a couch at a low table – – so if you want a formal table, then be sure to ask for it.
Service was great! Very attentive, despite being very busy.
They have a number of specialty cocktails, but a full bar that can make regular cocktails as well.
Tip was auto-included for a party of 6 … not sure if that’s DC standard or not.
The ‘Tawle tasting menu’ ($95 each) seemed a bit overpriced to us so we went with the tasting menu - and were very pleased with that.
Recommended dishes (from my evening)
Chicken Tangine
Lamb Shishkabobs
Roasted Carrots (a standout dish!)
Hummus (and they are very genius with some very tasty flat bread)
Dango chickpeas (nice and spicy)
Halloumi (*a must-get)
Chocolate mousse desert
Mint Tea
Huvac carrot dip and the Zucchini appetizer were both kind of bland, and the scallops were ok. I’d skip all three and focus on other options.

I’ve been to Maydan years ago and loved it. We went to Medina because they had an opening. Our waitress was great, she really took time to explain the menu and help with recommendations. We felt like the value for what we got was great, everything was delicious.. especially literally all the dips, the lamb, the mushrooms and the shrimp. As a group of 4, we spent maybe 50-70 dollars each (some people drank, some didn’t). This felt like a way better deal than the set menu tbh.
It’s an intimate setting, perfect for smaller groups or date nights. Very vibey haha
The date dessert was a bit disappointing, it’s a load of dates with super sweet sauce.. we’d skip that next time!

If you haven't tried this spot, do so. The food is really good and the drinks are legit. Add in some really unique ambiance and you have yourself a recipe for a successful dining experience. As Nike says, just do it...
It’s very cute and all the food was divine :)

We had a great experience at Medina. The food was amazing. Parking of course was a hassle but we found one and managed not to get our car towed so it was worth it. Will definitely go again for the food.
Amazing food and service! Undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in DC. Tell your friends!
I'm actually easy to please but this was bad experience for my gf's birthday. Very disappointing! The watermelon salad was $18 and I enjoy the watermelon from Whole Foods more... the steak had to be resent as it was chewy and the next one was over cooked. Server next followed up after. Had to ask the lady upfront to get him so we could pay and get the heck out. Never said happy birthday. We couldn't wait to leave. Highly disappointed. Will never ever go back there.

I was seated at my favorite table, the two sofas in the back corner. Our waitress was very helpful with suggestions and was very attentive. The food as always was amazing.
As a fan of Maydan, I was looking forward to Medina. The food and ambiance were lovely, but the service felt rushed, and almost weirdly hostile so we finally left and opted to have dessert and after dinner drinks elsewhere where we could feel comfortable. When we arrived, no one was at the hostess stand which we didn't mind but when we approached to try to find someone the hostess reappeared seemingly annoyed and impatient despite our reservation. First seated by a loud speaker, asked for a quieter spot and were then moved to a dark corner high-top, even as the restaurant remained half-empty for the next hour. Our server recommended the $95 tasting menu, and when we ordered lighter meals (just can't eat that quantity) and drinks, she said, “So you all aren't hungry?” From that point, we felt rushed, and soon after finishing, we were quickly asked about dessert or the check. The overall experience felt expensive for what we received and unwelcoming. While I'm thrilled for Medina's success, something has shifted — the culture feels overly focused on reputation rather than hospitality. We won't be returning. Just wanted a simple fun evening out on a Monday.
Fantastic food and drinks. Highly recommend the lamb and hummus

The atmosphere was nice but menu is overpriced and the bartender added the 20% tip to my check in a sneaky way. I didn’t even notice then added 20% on top smh…..
I was quite disappointed with my experience at Medina. We arrived at 11 p.m., even though the bar’s closing time was 1 a.m. The bartender seemed visibly annoyed when we asked for a bit more time to decide on our drinks, checking his watch and rushing us. When we asked about the closing time, he mentioned that they sometimes close early if it’s not busy and gave us the check about 35-40 minutes before the actual closing time. It felt like we were being rushed out, which was frustrating, especially considering we were paying $17 for a glass of wine. Overall, the bar ambiance and atmosphere is gorgeous but the service left much to be desired and I won’t be returning.
