We had a great experience at Medina. The food was amazing. Parking of course was a hassle but we found one and managed not to get our car towed so it was worth it. Will definitely go again for the food.

Amazing food and service! Undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in DC. Tell your friends!

I'm actually easy to please but this was bad experience for my gf's birthday. Very disappointing! The watermelon salad was $18 and I enjoy the watermelon from Whole Foods more... the steak had to be resent as it was chewy and the next one was over cooked. Server next followed up after. Had to ask the lady upfront to get him so we could pay and get the heck out. Never said happy birthday. We couldn't wait to leave. Highly disappointed. Will never ever go back there.

I was seated at my favorite table, the two sofas in the back corner. Our waitress was very helpful with suggestions and was very attentive. The food as always was amazing.

As a fan of Maydan, I was looking forward to Medina. The food and ambiance were lovely, but the service felt rushed, and almost weirdly hostile so we finally left and opted to have dessert and after dinner drinks elsewhere where we could feel comfortable. When we arrived, no one was at the hostess stand which we didn't mind but when we approached to try to find someone the hostess reappeared seemingly annoyed and impatient despite our reservation. First seated by a loud speaker, asked for a quieter spot and were then moved to a dark corner high-top, even as the restaurant remained half-empty for the next hour. Our server recommended the $95 tasting menu, and when we ordered lighter meals (just can't eat that quantity) and drinks, she said, “So you all aren't hungry?” From that point, we felt rushed, and soon after finishing, we were quickly asked about dessert or the check. The overall experience felt expensive for what we received and unwelcoming. While I'm thrilled for Medina's success, something has shifted — the culture feels overly focused on reputation rather than hospitality. We won't be returning. Just wanted a simple fun evening out on a Monday.

The atmosphere was nice but menu is overpriced and the bartender added the 20% tip to my check in a sneaky way. I didn’t even notice then added 20% on top smh…..

I was quite disappointed with my experience at Medina. We arrived at 11 p.m., even though the bar’s closing time was 1 a.m. The bartender seemed visibly annoyed when we asked for a bit more time to decide on our drinks, checking his watch and rushing us. When we asked about the closing time, he mentioned that they sometimes close early if it’s not busy and gave us the check about 35-40 minutes before the actual closing time. It felt like we were being rushed out, which was frustrating, especially considering we were paying $17 for a glass of wine. Overall, the bar ambiance and atmosphere is gorgeous but the service left much to be desired and I won’t be returning.

Beautiful restaurant reminds me of our visit to Morocco! The service was very slow and the waiter kept disappearing but the food was really good and loved the ambiance.

Absolutely loved this restaurant, the design is very unique not like something you'd see around the city. The food was delicious! The chefs knew how to put those flavors together to make those delicious meals. I've told all my friends about this place and can't wait to come back

This place is fantastic — my go-to spot when friends and family visit DC. The food and service are always excellent, and the atmosphere feels truly unique.

My only request: please bring back more of the old food and drink menu. It was outstanding and offered a great distinction from the Maydan menu. For example, the whiskey cocktail with pickled grapes was one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. I’d love to see more of that kind of creativity and experimentation return!

The Tawle (prix fixe) dining was almost a religious experience--the food was that good. And there was so much of it! Come hungry!
I would probably have preferred the main location (Maydan) for eating a full meal, since the Medina tables are small, the huge central oven at Maydan is awesome, and the AC was so strong at Medina that I was actually cold. A little more explanation of what each dish was could improve the experience. The zataar martini was a little too mild, couldn't distinguish it from a regular martini. The belly dancer cocktail was much better.

Medina is amazing! A fun and unique atmosphere, delicious cocktails, amazing food (directly from Maydan), and excellent service. The Evil Eye cocktail was a hit and the zaatar martini is delicious (and strong!). We did the Maydan Tawle experience and upgraded for the lamb shoulder, which had so much amazing food. We left full and with lots of left overs. The only slight downside is we sat in the lounge area and so we ran out of table space for all the plates. The service staff were really friendly though and tried to make it all fit. Love this place!

Go there very often. Love the place, food drinks and the vibes. The place also looks great, seems to be in a tent. Their appetizers kills and the tajines are great as well as cous cous or the roast chicken. Drinks are very creative and super balanced. Love it
