Delicious food and excellent service! Mi Vida is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the DMV area! We will be returning.
Really enjoyed our dinner at Mi Vida! I have celiac disease and was very impressed with the knowledgeable staff and server who made every effort for me to have a safe and enjoyable gluten-free dining experience. Special thank you to the chef and kitchen staff for taking extra steps to avoid cross-contamination with gluten during preparation. Excellent guacamole and house made chips, and some of the best shrimp fajitas I've had in the DMV. Will be back!
Great spot. Friday lunch was not too crowded, elegant, bright, and collegial. The $19 lunch special is a great bargain. The mole enchiladas are tops. Great service from Luis proudly from Guatemala. Play-by-play:: Ducked out of the metro, crossed the street to Mi Vida, dined with my lady, ducked into the portrait museum, said hi to the Presidents portraits (and Grandma Moses), and slipped back out to the metro. Easy fun afternoon. Home by 3 pm. We'll be back.

Overall very good especially as a place to go before or after Arena events. The music is too loud in the dining room though. Even a small table of 4 has a hard time making conversation.
Lovely atmosphere and food!

We came here because it is across from the Caital One Arena where we were going to a Washington Capitals hockey game. My son had the taco dish and he is a chef and said they were excellent. I had the cod like fish an chips. The cod was infused with lime and the crust was the lightest flakey crust I ever had. It was the best I ever had. If you come here have the guacamole with spicy crab and chip..

It was Soooooooo loud and not with music , but pounding noise. Very expensive. Bathroom and getting to the bathroom is a death trap
We had a great experience here in the past, but our recent experience wasn’t the best. While service was good, our reservation included a request to be sat at a booth, which wasn’t honored. To make matters worse, the food consistently came out cold. We’ll probably pick a different restaurant for Mexican food next time.

Restaurantji Recommends
Went there with a friend before going to a play at the Shakespeare Theater. Service was outstanding. The food was excellent, too. My friend and I enjoyed the guacamole so much that we had two servings of it. I went for the restaurant week menu and had the shrimp appetizer (delicious, big enough to be a main course) and pork. The entree was served with rice and beans, which made it an ample portion. The meat was very tender and very tasty. But watch out for the jalapeno pepper in the dish. It was dark in the restaurant and I didn't see it. I would up eating it whole and almost got sick from it. I was hoping to have the flan, but it was sold out. I had the tres leche cake instead. Also an ample portion. (See the theme here?) The only disappointment was the margaritas. I had both the house margarita on the rocks and the frozen margarita. I've had better at other restaurants. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend Mi Vida if you're in the area and are looking for an excellent meal.
