Mikey & Mel's Deli Reviews
First time going here today, went for breakfast. Good service, good coffee, amazing stuffed French toast, & The Home fries 🤌🏼
Will definitely be back!!!
Mikey and Mel's deli is the best local deli! The food is fresh made and delicious, the portions are very generous, enough for a couple of meals. Their omlettes are huge and yummy, their sandwiches are amazing and enormous (they aren't your average sandwich shop). Don't miss their dessert case, they have the most tasty and decadent desserts. You haven't had a real eclair until you've tried theirs, it's so rich and filled with an amazing custard.

Mikey & Mel's Deli offers a New York deli experience in Washington, DC, with a variety of menu items and a friendly staff. Guests have enjoyed standout dishes like the pastrami sandwich on rye and the extra lean corned beef Reuben, which has been described as amazing. The deli features a convenient ordering system with touch screens, allowing for easy and quick service. A highlight for many is the pickle bar, stocked with a variety of pickles for customers to enjoy. The staff, including the manager and Briana, are praised for their excellent service, ensuring each customer feels satisfied and well taken care of. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the food is fresh and delicious, making it a popular spot for deli lovers.
However, some reviews point out areas for improvement. One customer experienced a mix-up with their bagel order, highlighting a need for more attention to detail. The cost of some menu items, like the breakfast sandwiches and the Reuben, is considered high, especially when the quality is not as expected—such as a soggy sandwich or a meal lacking flavor. The onion rings, for example, had virtually no onion and no taste of onion. Additionally, the food is served in takeout containers rather than on plates, which some diners find less appealing. Despite these minor issues, the overall sentiment remains positive, with guests eager to return and explore more of the menu, including the elusive meat knish. While some aspects may not be perfect, Mikey & Mel's Deli is seen as a solid choice for deli lovers in the area.
