Wow! What a great menu with lots of choices from all of the Scandinavian countries! I was also impressed with the cocktail and non-alcoholic cocktail choices. Incredibly helpful and attentive staff.
This place is a great option in the Logan Circle area. Nordic cuisine is certainly unique! Prices are also reasonable I've now had both dinner and brunch at Mikko's and they were both delicious a little unique. However, my companion found egg shell in his Salmon Benedict. We were the only ones in the restaurant this morning and there is simply no excuse for this
My god, the food is fantastic. Place is very small. Most of the dining space is outdoors, so on cold or chilly nights you will need a reservation. Service was really good. COD and mashed potatoes was delicious. My wife had the Traditional Fish Soup and the Herring open face sandwich. She was in heaven. Such a nice place.
Mikko is the absolute best! Food is fantastic and unique — but the service is really where this place shines. Everyone is incredibly welcoming and kind, it feels like having dinner at a friend's house. Can't recommend it highly enough.
lovely authentic Scandinavian/Finnish restaurant with an unbelievable selection of baked goods. Really delicious karadamon buns and smoked salmon eggs benedict. And go get yourself some original Semla buns. they are in season now.
Such a delightful find! Small location, excellent food, service was great. Definitely will come back for brunch - we had dinner, but their brunch menu looked amazing.
Really cozy vibes, great drinks (especially their hot chocolate), and I want to try more of the menu. The savory waffle, basically salmon eggs Benedict on a waffle, was delicious.

If I could eat the meatballs they have here for lunch every day I would! Just wish they served them for dinner too.
Tiny but a hidden gem. I love the clear fish soup and smørrebrod

A little taste of home, mostly.
The little store was well stocked. I had the Shrimp Skagen and all though it was good and authentic it would have been more impressive if it had been freshly made. It had it's time in the display case. Since it turned cooler as the sun set I also tried the mushroom soup. The flavor of the soup was good. However, I was a bit disappointed it did not have any pieces of mushrooms in it.
If your hankering for some Scandinavian dishes though you should try it when in DC.
Dietary restrictions: GF and vegan options are clearly marked on the menu.

On Saturday evening October 12, stopped in to enjoy the Autumn Menu. Perfectly prepared short ribs, buttery halibut with the most delicious potato and beet casserole. The small plate offering of smoked chicken salad absolutely fantastic. An evening much enjoyed. Thank you

Great food and cute atmosphere! Unfortunately, our waitress said the Duck Confit didn't have tomatoes when I asked (I'm allergic), but it had sun dried tomatoes in the beans and most likely in the jus. Our table was dark, and I didn't see them until I'd finished most of the plate and started feeling the effects. For safety reasons, the waitstaff needs to ask the chef if they're not sure of ingredients.

Food was good. We had the Fish soup and the herring sandwich. Service was good as well.
Just the payment system has a lot room for improvement. Asking for 25% tip as a Standard is bot acceptable. I would give more tip without this "nudge".

Great little corner of Scandinavia in a nice DC neighborhood. Very much enjoyed the meatballs on mashed potatoes with lingonberry jam and salad as well as the salmon open faced sandwich with a perfectly poached egg. Good coffee too
